Our most durable 3-layer performance riding jacket, the Primo Jacket has a highly articulated fit for freedom of movement and is built for the abuse of charging day after day. Constructed with 3-layer GORE-TEX® fabric for durably waterproof/breathable and windproof protection.

The fully dialed design and durable construction of the Primo lets you stay focused on the season-long search for the essentials—steep lines, new snow, cheap beer. The Primo is our most durable hard shell for charging in all types of weather. Built with burly 3-layer, recycled nylon GORE-TEX® fabric for waterproof/breathable and windproof protection in all conditions, it resists wear and keeps you moving through Alta overhead and Sierra cement. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish increases abrasion resistance and fends off slush and sleet. The 2-way-adjustable, helmet-compatible hood has a laminated visor for optimal visibility in bad conditions, and the patented Touch Point System™ embeds cord locks in the hood and hem for on-the-fly adjustments. Other details include coated, watertight Slim Zips for reduced bulk, a burly Vislon® center-front zip, a sleek, low-profile powder skirt for a secure seal, pit zips for ventilation, a highly articulated fit for ease of movement and an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector. Pockets rundown: two handwarmers, one chest with a secure media pocket and cable routing, one forearm and two interior pockets (one drop-in and one zippered stash).

Weatherproof

GORE-TEX

The construction of 3-Layer GORE-TEX® Products is unique. A 3-layer GORE-TEX® membrane is sandwiched between a soft outer material and a knit polyester backing material that increases durability. These garments keep you comfortable and protected from the elements without adding extra bulk or weight.

The GORE-TEX® membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside. But these same pores are large enough for moisture vapor to pass through, so your body's perspiration is able to escape and you won’t feel clammy or uncomfortable inside your jacket.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.
