Environmentalism: Common Waters, Common Goals

Since 2010, we have been members of the Save the Colorado River campaign. We’re proud to join founders New Belgium Brewing and eight other companies and foundations in raising funding and awareness for the severely threatened Colorado River. This year, the campaign donated $170,000 to 15 organizations working to save the river. Visit www.savethecolorado.org to learn more about the grants opportunities.

The map below, created by Save the Colorado River campaign partner National Geographic, documents the over-allocation of water throughout the watershed – from the headwaters in Wyoming, to the bone-dry delta at the Sea of Cortez. It’s a complex story, with a simple ending: the mighty Colorado River is so tapped, it no longer reaches the sea.
