When the first fall storms move through, rivers come to life, fish move and weather conditions change faster than you can refresh your forecast app. The keys to comfort are versatility and layering; fortunately, our 3-in-1 River Salt Jacket provides both. The outer shell is made from a rugged H2No® Performance Standard 4-layer polyester microfiber with a waterproof/breathable barrier and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish—the same fabric we use in our toughest waders. Three TPU-coated, water-repellent front-zip pockets hold fly boxes, while the corrosion-resistant YKK® Vislon® Aquaguard® main zipper holds back the weather. The vented, fully adjustable hood stays in place even at high boat speeds; adjustable watertight cuffs keep wrists and arms dry. Inside, a light, warm and durable Nano Puff® Hoody (100% recycled polyester ripstop shell, insulated with 60-g PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco that uses 55% postconsumer-recycled polyester) keeps you warm to the top of your noggin and snaps out to be worn alone when the skies clear. Put it all together and you have a fly fishing jacket that helps you keep up with weather conditions—no matter how fast they change.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Weatherproof

Patagonia developed the 4-layer fabric construction for our waders to increase breathability and abrasion resistance, move moisture away from the body, and decrease the weight.

Our exterior fabrics are densely woven 100% polyester microfibers for durability and puncture resistance. On one side we apply our H2No® waterproof coating for waterproof/breathable performance. On the other side we apply a Hydrophilic laminate that pulls moisture away from the body so it can be passed out through the exterior shell.

To protect the hydrophilic laminate we use a soft polyester tricot lining that increases abrasion resistance yet maintains a soft, supple drape. Finally, we apply a DWR (durable water repellent) treatment as the first line of defense in keeping these waders waterproof.

Men's 3-In-1 River Salt Jacket is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket just not for river fishing. haha I bought this jacket about a week or so after the material of the shell was upgrade from 3-4 layers. i bought the old shell and wast truly disappointed with how fragile the material was. this jacket made up for that one. i mainly bought it from river fishing. the good -gorgeous colour -great cut and design** except the cuffs. -outer shell is scratch(bullet) proof(thorns, vines, rocks, shrubs, sticks, hooks, jagged edges) i actually bushwhack full speed most the year without even worrying about any form of damage. -absolutely water proof**(minus the cuffs) can stand in a thunderstorm and not worry about anything. -completely wind poof -light weight - best winter jacket i have ever owned. super warm which is also a down fall for fishing. -best hood design i have ever had with any jacket. even 100KM winds could not move it back. perfectly domed and gives you great view to stay safe or cross street or watch for other fisherman's casting. -amazing lining, super light, it retains its heat even when wet. almost too fragile** - amazing hand warmer pockets and extremely well designed on the jacket. keeps your free arm properly aligned with the fishing reel. the bad and the ugly. being designed for fly fishing and following Patagonia's motto of save nature and help environment you would assume it would be signed towards catch and release of the fish. -worst possible cuffs, exactly like any other waterproof jacket out there with velcro cuffs that are not labelled fly fishing that are 1/3rd of the price. the cuffs are not even 30% water resistant, let alone water proof. one would assume a fly fishing jacket would be designed for entering the water. and to release the fish back. soon as you even look at the water, your entire arm becomes wet. water seeps through so easily. i have tried at least 4-5 different ways of closing the cuffs. but it is a huge gap and water seeps through. it is even worst if it rains. all the rain will go into your rod holding hand. and you will feel wet and uncomfortable. that is unforgivable for jacket of this price. - the inner shell. also amazing. is way too fragile, i ripped the hoop of the sleeve, just trying to take the jacket off, after using it less than 3 month. - the middle strap that is suppose to button into the inner shell is a nuisance. it is impossible to zip up the jacket if your lining jacket is buttoned into the male strap. you have to always tuck it in and zip twice. - the general fitting of the lining is too loose for the shell and you can feel the space. -the pockets are way too shallow. you can't really put any decent thick of a box into the zippers. - it is not very breathable and it is way too warm. realistically we fish rivers anywhere from 15C to -3. this jacket with a light hoodie will keep you warm up to -20C. way too warm for hiking and trekking spots on the river. or at least not breathable enough.my lining is always soaked when i just go for a simple 45 minute walk. What would i suggest some improvements to be? a neoprene cuff lining that the person would put their arm through to hug the wrist and Velcro to seal it fully. also a different material for the actual cuff. something thicket or neoprene. might not look all beautiful. but this is wading jacket. meant to deal with water. the shell to lining attachment needs to be tighter and more secure. the hoops on the sleeves are way too fragile. the hood attachment is great though. deeper pockets for tackle boxes and few things that one needs to have on them. more breathable. not sure if goretex is better. or more ventilation. Conclusion: one of the best jackets i have owned. if not the best jacket. unfortunately makes amazing outdoor/winter jacket.. but extremely disappointing fly fishing jacket. specially for the price tag and it being labelled a fly fishing jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch Super warm and practical for office and fishing. Would be better if liner were zip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from exceptional A fantastic jacket that I give 10/10 to, as do the others I know who have it. I simply do not understand how the other reviewer can suggest it is not warm enough, because it is very toasty, even with thin layers worn beneath. Put it this way, I have had mine two seasons and would buy it again in a split of a heartbeat. Hardwearing material, great hood, completely waterproof, clean lines, great pockets. The nano puff is awesome - warm, dries quick, keeps you warm whilst wet. Nothing I would change about it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice look, not warm enough. I like the look of this jacket however I'm not thrill about one feature that didn't make sense, use snap buttons instead of zipper for inside jacket. I felt because of this I didn't feel warm in 30 degree weather and I felt very cold. I don't feel like I'm retain heat unless have a couple sweaters underneath. Am returning this jacket
