The easy-to-layer Baby Down Sweater wraps babies in soft warmth but also blocks wind and resists water when conditions get dicey. The ultralightweight 100% polyester shell has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to repel light moisture and is insulated with 600-fill-power Traceable Down (which can be traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the ducks that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked). Lightweight and highly compressible, this baby-size down jacket has a full-length zipper with a zipper garage to protect tender chins—elastic in the back hem secures the fit and keeps in warmth. Hand-me-down ID label.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Traceable Down Insulation

Patagonia Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked. How do we know? We hired an independent third-party expert to trace and verify our down supply chain from farm to jacket–and every step in between. Learn more

Baby Down Sweater is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for car seat. My daughter is 6 months old. I originally bought the 6-12 month thinking it would last through the winter. However had to return for the 3-6. (Note she wears 6-12 clothes). This is still big. I would recommend sizing down. Besides sizing issues this jacket is great. Very light weight and thin. Perfect for car seats. I didn't have to adjust the straps at all. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm coat to keep their kids warm, and doesn't have to be removed in the car.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stinky This coat is beautiful and well designed. However, even after my second purchase attempt, I have stinky coats. I'm so sad to not be able to use either coat. They are both getting shipped back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this jacket but sizing is WAY off I love this jacket. Out little guy wore it all last winter and we just purchased one for this winter. It isn't bulky, so you don't have to worry about carseat dangers. However, I have to say the sizing is way off! Our 14 month old is 50% for height and weight just now fitting into 6-12 month. He couldn't wear his 3-6 month jacket until he was 8 months old, so be careful on what size you buy!
