bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable.

Designed for a wide range of uses, from backpacking to snowboarding, 2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics utilize a taffeta or mesh lining rather than a bonded scrim to protect the waterproof/breathable barrier. The lining increases the garments wicking ability, durability and next-to-skin comfort.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our Killer Wash.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hesitant to buy again We have two of these jackets. One for our older boy and the other for the younger boy. The younger one is wearing the hand-me-down from the older boy. Regrettably, there are three flaws that has made me not to want to buy this again. One is the velcro along the zipper. I've had these repaired once already (sent to Patagonia repair shop), within months of wear, and not even every day wear, the velcros are falling off again. The second reason is the snap around the hood - two have fallen out. The third reason is the fabric is actually not great for wear-and-tear. The cuffs (of the older boy's jacket, which is not a hand-me-down) are already worn. The fabric at the cuffs are also very tight and "hard" on the wrists. Agree with one commenter that it's hard to get the gloves or mittens that stay on with such tight and inflexible cuffs. I'd love to go back to the high loft sweater jacket for them but even though that's a down jacket it's not as warm. I wish Patagonia makes an even warmer down jacket in the high loft design. It's the only reason (that the high loft was not warm enough) that we switched to the snow pile jacket. But the snow pile jacket is not worth it given the above mentioned flaws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Toddler Jacket! We bought this for our active 2.5 year old who loves to be outside and needed a quality, warm winter coat. We are very happy with it and so is our little snow baby.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Had trouble with the snaps Overall, we like the fit and feel of this jacket for our son, however, after less than one month of use, the snap attaching the hood to the jacket has ripped off the jacket. I'm very disappointed by this. I have bought this jacket previously for my older children, and the hood attached with a zipper instead of snaps. I prefer the zipper. I do not know how to repair the disconnected snap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent, but would recommend one change Overall this outfit is perfect (and super adorable) for our 2 year-old son to snowboard and play outside. However, the sleeves/wrists are so frustrating! We have tried multiple different gloves and mittens with this coat; they are almost impossible to get on with the too-snug elastic wrists and once on, quickly get pushed off. Only fleece mittens will work, but aren't warm enough for too long. (To be fair, we have tried all season to get the baby puff mitts in 2T-5T at every online retailer with no luck! Please make sure these are available too.) The matching bibs are fantastic...don't change a thing with these. The tiny reflective strips on the coat are surprisingly bright, which was appreciated for evening snowboarding. The velcro on our coat works just fine, no issues. Please somehow make the wrists open (zipper or velcro?) so our son can use this coat effectively with gloves. Will be buying the next size next winter! For reference, our son is 25 months old at 50th percentile height/weight, and the 3T is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My son loves his jacket :) Our two boys have almost only Patagonia stuff as outerwear, one piece rainsuits, hi-loft buntings for freezing weather, and reversible puff pants. For sub 30 degree extended play outside with snow they use the single piece suits, for almost all other outside play in the cold he uses this jacket and loves it. He also loves the hood and prefers it to wearing hats which is great. He has the matching snowpile bib pants but isn't into wearing them yet. I would guess this keeps him warm easily into the single digits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Jacket I bought this slightly big with the hope of my kid being able to wear it next year, and it is perfect! It's been cold up here in the NE this year, and this jacket and the bibs keep him warm. Not the mention the high quality of materials and craftsmanship that went into it. Could not be more happier! Thank you!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Velcro detaches Love this jacket and bib EXCEPT that the velcro detaches from the jacket. This is definitely a product flaw--my girl is very easy on all her clothes and ONLY wears this jacket on when skiing in NH. The Snow Pile bib is flawless as is the rest of the jacket. Just wish Patagonia would fix the velcro issue--I'm hesitant to buy again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from love it except for velcro Size 5t fits great on my five year old, and I love the colors, but am sending back to Patagonia because for the 2nd time the velcro closures on this jacket are detaching from the jacket. He only wears it on the weekends for skiing, not everyday to school.
