bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Traceable Down Insulation

Patagonia Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked. How do we know? We hired an independent third-party expert to trace and verify our down supply chain from farm to jacket–and every step in between. Learn more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From casual to cold weather:) My son loves this jacket. It's a great casual jacket that looks nice, keeps warm, and is comfortable. He wears it more for casual outings. It has zipped pockets, which is a plus. I loved mine so much , I had to get him a matching jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping Our Kids Warm Everyday Since Birth My son has been wearing Patagonia down sweaters since he was a baby. We received a hand me down from a friend. Since then we have been making sure our children always have one in their size. If we don't have the next size we buy it knowing it will also get passed down to a friend or relative. Now he is 6 and this jacket is perfect for kindergarden. It gets compact which is great for shoving in a cubby when he gets to school. The fill is just the right amount for our weather, from 25F to 40F, during the wither. My boys run a lot so this jacket allows them to be outside and not get over heated while allowing them to keep their core temperatures high. The only issue we have had with these jackets is when they tear. We have an awesome repair shop here in Bend, Oregon (Rugged Thread). If it is small we cut a small piece of material from the pocket and patch it up ourselves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged but soft My son loves this coat. We live in Boston and it gets pretty chilly sometimes. He loves this coat because it keeps him really warm during his walks to and from school and it compacts enough to shove it into his backpack if it warms up in the afternoon. Really wel made and washes well.
