Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Lightweight Black Hole™ Pack 26L is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the rain coast of North America! I bought this a few months ago, waiting for the rainy season here in Vancouver, BC. It's an excellent pack and I am happy with it. However, on some days, when it's almost empty, I wish there was also a shorter, smaller version of this pack available to use as an alternative to a handbag or leather backpack. Something not too big, in which to carry glasses case, compact umbrella, gloves, make-up, cell phone, address book, wallet, maybe one book, etc., because when I am carrying just those things, I have to dig down to get at them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight and great as a day bag I bought this bag to use as a day pack and like that I can be in the city or in the woods with it. I wish it had better ventilation against the back. Sweat just pools up. I also wish there was light padding on the straps. If you put any weight (in my case a tripod) in the bag, the straps can dig into your shoulders around mid day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water bottle pockets need attention For the most part, this bag performs as expected. I bought it for travel, to replace a more fru-fru Tumi. I like the pocket configuration, especially the water bottle side pockets, alas, those pockets are much more difficult to use than they should be. The outer coating makes the bag fabric so 'grippy' that you can't get a bottle in without two hands and a lot of shimmying, tugging and shoving. That's with the pack loosely - maybe 1/3 - full. I can't imagine if it's packed with and extra fleece and jacket in there. I'm considering adding some type of other fabric to one side to make at least one of the pockets more handy. Something Patagonia should consider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and good size This bag was the perfect size for my recent trip to Alaska! I was traveling with 2 young kids and it could fit everything that we needed. I especially love the big pockets, where I could stuff our water bottle, hats, snacks, and gloves into! The straps are very comfortable for long wear and the bag overall seems very ergonomic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great waterproof backpack Great multi-purpose backpack for commuting, kayaking, fishing, hiking, X-C skiing, and more to keep belongings dry and safe. Bought granite with fuchsia straps with turquoise 'Patagonia'. Love this backpack!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag! Wish it was cheaper. Love the size. Used it hiking in the rain and everything stayed dry. It's comfortable. The two side pockets are roomy for water bottles which is important to me. However, we literally used it one weekend and it has white scuffs on the front that will not come off. I have no idea what it's even from. Assuming it's the type of material, which is unfortunate for the price. Slightly regretting how much I paid since it was only used once and no longer looks new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neatly fits under the seat in front of you! I purchased this pack to use as a day pack on a recent trip to Costa Rica. I love Black Hole bags (have 3 or 4 others) and was eager to try out this lightweight version. I planned to us it a a carry-on, a camera bag (water resistant) for a long lens and camera body, and for light hikes and lazy days at the beach (hydration bladder compatible). Absolutely successful on every level. The width of the bag, and the position and width of the straps, make this probably the most comfortable small pack I've ever owned (usually wear one of my Camelbaks). The slim outside pocket is perfect for phone and maybe a book. The small internal pocket with clip kept my wallet, passport, and keys at the top and accessible. My wife has her eye on my bag and I had to remind her that we can always get another one for her! Get yourself a Black Hole bag - any one of them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but could be improved This pack would be perfect if two features were changed: adding a removable hip strap and making the shoulder straps a little less scratchy (stitching is a little irritating when against the skin). I wanted to use the pack for a trip where we will be hiking 7 miles a day, but the pack didn't seem comfortable enough when fully loaded with 2L of water without a hip strap. That said, I'm keeping it for traveling when expected hiking is less intensive.
