Come frost, come ice, come wind: onward to the trails. The devout get out all winter, in all conditions, and our newest cold-weather running tights use a unique fiber that delivers extraordinary stretch with a comfortable, unrestrictive feel. A favorite of our endurance testers, the Borderless Tights also wick, breathe and remain supportive. They excel as stand-alone tights, yet slide easily under overlayers when the temps drop to desperate but the trails still call. Gusseted construction further enables your range of motion, and the brushed-elastic waistband stays comfy with a flat, internal drawcord. A center-back security pocket closes with a zipper, and the stretch drop-in pockets at the hips have reflective binding. With a reflective logo at left hip and Polygiene® permanent odor control.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the pockets! Love these pants. The side pockets hold your phone perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Trail Running Pant Me: 5'9", 168 lbs, weekend mountain warrior. Test conditions: 6 mile run, 1200 ft of gain, packed powder and some post-holing, 20 degrees, light to moderate wind. These tights performed great and were very comfortable. The pockets were perfect; one side held a snack and car key, the other my Houdini when the heat from the climb built up, while my smaller-style iPhone fit in the center back pocket. I had no problems with sagging or discomfort from the static drawstring. I bought these mostly for the side pockets and I was very pleased. These were perfectly warm and shed snow well. For my frame they are a tad long, but it did prevent gaps between my socks and tights. I did pair these pants with a compression brief underneath, which made them more modest and kept me, uh, warmer. I could see these being used as a warm under-layer, or outer-layer for running as described, or Nordic skiing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Run in it. And ski in it. I wore this over longjohns for a lap around the lower trails at Trapps on a day in which the wind challenged warmth considerably. Most everything was cold at one point or another, but once you get the BTU going, these tights will see you through. They shouldn't be any more difficult than anything I have used before to layer under pants for more frigid conditions. But after today it might have to get plenty frigid for me to consider that. Good fit good flex good wind blockage. The pockets discourage cargo-pants-style loading up but will hold just about anything you need to put in them. In fact, if you can't put it inside these tights you need a pack. This was a spur of the moment purchase; I decided one of these would beat two pairs of longjohns. I think I was right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the pockets Wore these for a 100k and loved them. The temperatures hovered around the 30s for the entire race. They did a perfect job at keeping me warm but not too warm. I often find leggings get too hot, but these were perfect. The main selling point for me was the pockets. At one point I had a headlamp, two bars, and two gel flasks in one pocket. They can hold a lot! Granted, the pants did sag a little with all of that weight but not to the point where I felt I had to pull them up constantly. The sturdy drawcord is the same one found in the Strider Pro shorts. My only suggestion would be to add a zipper above the ankle, which would nice to unzip for a little more airflow if they got hot. I would wear these as a long underwear option for camping. They are quite comfortable. I love these tights and will get many miles out of them!
