A baselayer essential, these boxers put the fun in “funhog.” Made from Capilene® Daily, they are our stretchiest baselayer for everyday wear, designed to provide stay-cool, nonbunching comfort. We call our new baselayer category “Daily,” but uncommon qualities like Fair Trade Certified™ sewing and 50-UPF sun protection make our new Capilene Daily styles something out of the ordinary. The fabric has the wicking-performance backbone of Capilene polyester, but in a stretchier, regular fit most suited to everyday pursuits, work or play. Polygiene® permanent odor control means less washing and longer wearing. These boxers feature energetic prints inspired by nature and the sports we love. The soft, brushed elastic waistband won't bind, roll or bunch, and the fit provides a trim silhouette. Self-fabric, fully functional fly for no-fumble pit stops.
  • Lightweight Capilene® polyester/spandex jersey is smooth and comfortable against the skin, featuring Polygiene® permanent odor control
  • Brushed elastic waistband is soft and comfortable against skin
  • Self-fabric, fully functioning fly
  • 4-oz (135-g) 94% polyester (35% recycled)/6% spandex jersey, with Polygiene® permanent odor control. Fabric is bluesign® approved

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Capilene® Polyester Baselayer

Made from moisture-wicking polyester, Capilene® synthetic baselayers wick moisture away from your skin, breathe efficiently and dry fast to provide the foundation for any layering system for any pursuit. Designed for fast-forward, aerobic activities, they’re quick to wick and quick to dry. Capilene polyester is made from recycled polyester (30% recycled content or more) and is also machine washable.

We make four Capilene fabrics for different levels of exertion and temperatures. All Capilene fabrics have achieved bluesign® approval; have an updated and consistent fit in each fabric weight; and use Polygiene® technology to control odor in the garment. They are the best baselayer option for high-sweat activities and wet conditions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please go back to the old design Did you know that these boxers were featured in the "Cool Tools" book by Kevin Kelly? Apparently, Patagonia didn't know that either... they were widely considered to be the best out there, but unfortunately they "updated" the design and new ones don't have the same quality fit. I can only assume the update was to save some slight time in construction costs. The fit is no longer the same-- PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OLD DESIGN! Until then I've resorted to buying used underwear on eBay.. this is a new low for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Old cut was great, don't like new cut I started buying these around 2010 and they were unbelievably comfortable and functional. Last time i bought these, the cut and fit was distinctly different for the worse. The new cut is more narrow and long, as opposed to wide and short, and it simply doesn't feel as comfortable and functional with motion. I see im not the only one with this opinion. Would be great if they went back to the old cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get waistband! I have been wearing Patagonia capilene boxers since they were introduced. I buy a few pair every year. This year's bunch has a seam in the middle of the back side which makes them a little less comfortable than the older ones. Still, they are wonderful boxers, and I highly recommend them. I wish they were made the way they used to be, however.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the previous design! I am writing in support of all the other comments to bring back the previous design that I have used for over a decade. The seam straight up the crack is annoying and the side seam make the legs bunch up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As advertised These boxers live up to their name, great for wearing on a daily basis.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Please Bring Back the Old I've been wearing capliene boxers exclusively since 2001. I still have my original 3 pair that have worn out the elastic as I plan to replace it, the core material is fine. I could always use more, please bring back the old model! I really do not want to order these new ones with 1 seam in the back and will start looking for an alternative until you bring back the best boxer ever! Can someone please answer there comments asking for an update on bringing back the original?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can someone at Patagonia please answer us I'm piling on with the many folks who have commented that these used to be the very best boxers available anywhere. They were all I wore and now that my old ones are finally wearing out, I am trying to replace them with the new versions but they are definitely not as good, mainly in the general texture in my opinion, though many others have lodged a set of other complaints that I also generally agree with. I love Patagonia and the way they do business (as one other review has also noted) but I can't think of any reason why the design was changed to be lower quality. It's just not better in any way and that's a shame. Is there any chance you can bring the old model back? Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Awesome! I've been wearing these boxers for many years and yes, they've undergone a few changes in that time. I still love them and find them extremely comfortable! Did they go from a two team rear to one? Yes, but the cut is roomy and the material so light it's a non-factor. Did they print their name around the waste band? Yes, but wouldn't you if the products you make are this awesome?! Name one guy who would ask "Dude, what brand of underwear are you wearing?"! Seriously! If he or she (my wife loves to wear them as pajamas) likes them, with one glance he/she knows where to get them.
