On frigid alpine climbs the world over, our DAS Parka is as ubiquitous as iron-hard ice, showers of spindrift and the screaming barfies. Its well-sculpted fit maximizes warmth (while still sized as a belay parka) with lofty warm-when-wet 120-g PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Hi-Loft throughout and an additional layer of 60-g PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco wrapping the torso. The lightweight, PU-coated nylon ripstop shell (with DWR finish) is durable, water-resistant and windproof. A single-pull, adjustable, helmet-compatible hood and a tall collar trap extra heat. A few fine points: zippered and insulated handwarmer pockets; a zippered chest pocket; large interior mesh pockets for drying gloves; elasticized cuffs; a drawcord drop-tail hem; and a 2-way zip (with internal, insulated wind flap) that lets you see your belay device. Stuffsack included.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

We use PrimaLoft® insulation inside insulated garments for its warmth, compressibility, and soft comfort. While the human body uses energy to stay warm, PrimaLoft insulation uses a patented microfiber structure to help the body retain warmth and conserve energy.

The proprietary ultra-fine fibers of PrimaLoft insulation form a tight collection of air pockets that trap heat from your body and keep the cold out, providing an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. When insulation gets wet, it loses these air pockets and consequently, its insulating properties. PrimaLoft ultra-fine fibers were developed to be water resistant so your insulation stays drier and maintains its insulating properties even when wet.

Men's Das Parka is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alpine climbing ONLY This can be a great jacket.... if you are throwing it over a base layer, fleece, and shell while wearing a helmet. In this circumstance it is the lightest and warmest synthetic you will find. Please note that if you try to wear this with just a shirt underneath or no helmet it will have a vacuum affect which will pull cold air in through the lower back and neck area.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mostly excellent, but awful hood design I really wanted to love this jacket and mostly I did. But I can't overlook the hood design. Mostly the front collar/neck/chin and lower part of the hood. It leaves my face totally exposed to the wind and cold. It is very open. The cold air just pours in. My face froze. And pulling on the adjustment cord (back of head) only tightens the upper hood around your forehead and pulls the top down over my eyes. Kind of a cruel joke actually. Other than this major flaw, the jacket is terrific. But I couldn't live with it. I returned the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most important jacket. Bomb Proof, no matter the temp you're warm in this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, comfortable and great fit I bought this jacket to walk around the city in the winter to protect me from the cold. It works perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat 'em, join em! I returned my old das parka bc the zipper kept splitting from the bottom until it eventually failed. I like that your designers fixed the problem with a zipper that moves up from the bottom instead of completely separating the zipper track

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept me warm in the 20s! This is my first Patagonia jacket, not to mention first jacket of this kind. I got it as a gift for a trip to Iceland (30s and 40s with light rain) with a stop in Norway (20s and dry). In both places, this kept my core warm. This was my third layer but I feel like it would have been sufficient with only two layers paired with gloves and a beanie. It's very puffy, too! It became too toasty once indoors. I would definitely recommend this! I wish it came in more than two colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My "go to" winter Jacket Great all around winter jacket. Very warm, yet packable in my small ski pack. I am 6'2", 180 lbs. and the large is the right size to fit over all my layers. Better than down for the PNW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest coat that I have ever worn! When I first got this coat I was a little skeptical. It was so light that I didn't think it would be warm. I wore it out on a very cold Massachusetts day when the temperature was 9 degrees. I was only wearing a t-shirt under it yet I was so warm. It feels like you're not wearing anything it's so light.
