Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Dirt Craft Bike Shorts is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shorts Bought a month ago and have been enjoying them. They fit great, look great, and are comfortable. My only biff with them is the price and for such price they could at least include a second liner. That way you could change them out and "clean" them without having to waiting to dry. I have the black version (last one left) and wish I could have gotten the tan version. Mine is a size large and I'd say the fit is right on. Love the belt/loop setup...easy to adjust and stays put. Lower the price a little (or at least include a second liner) and also make it optional to purchase additional liners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Go-To Mountain Bike Shorts Light, stretchy in all the right places, breathable, and well constructed. Now I just need another pair so I can keep them in continuous rotation! #PedalPower

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best mountain biking shorts I've owned. Patagonia has hit the sweet spot with these. Neither too baggy nor too slim, the sizing is just right. No goofy looking stripes that are popular on shorts made by other brands, these look good enough to be worn all day after a ride. Nice stretch material. The design on the adjustable belt is genius and the removable liner makes these easy to wash. These will be my go-to shorts for years to come. I'm about 200 pounds, I wear a size 34 in Patagonia pants and shorts and the Large was a perfect fit for me. I just hope Patagonia sticks with making mountain biking shorts for a while and not drop the product after this first run the way they do with some other items.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not better than less expensive options Nice short, been waiting for Pata to get back to producing some cycling specific products. My gripe is that they are not any better than $80 competitors. The DWR is not great, saturated after 30 min of light rain - although they did dry fast, even in my locker at work. the fit is good, they look great off the bike too. To reiterate: good, but not better than less expensive options. For $160 I expect to be blown away, like a merino liner?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, Adaptable, Comfortable Have probably spent more time hanging out in these than actually riding in them. Super comfortable on / off bike, which is great, cause then all you have to do after a ride is take off the chamois, throw shell back on and you're ready to keep going - play with kids, climb, run, surf, street tacos, and one less short to wash. Unlike many baggie shorts, they stay in position while on / off saddle and in technical sections. Great articulation, and breathability. Would like to see an option for a lighter weight for hotter summer days. While I like the liner short, a bib liner would be great, and as some of the other comments have stated, standalone liner option would be ideal. Nonetheless, I'll be picking up another pair soon and imagine they'll be the go-to all summer and fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great on long climbs! Great fit, light weight outer shell, length is slightly below the knee when standing and just above the knee when sitting. You barely notice the shell when pedaling. My ride is mostly uphill and the padding definitely saves your butt on long climbs. I was a little concerned about the button closure digging in, but you don't notice it at all. Please sell liners separately to avoid getting caught in-between washes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love 'em Very well designed- the elastic fit system gives a great fit and the liner loops keep the shorts from sagging. I wish the liner were available on its own to have a second pair on multi day trips or to just buy and wear on its own or under some baggies or board shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Proper fit, weight and purpose Shell- The shorts continue to look tip top after about 320 miles and many wash cycles, including creek washes. They have stretched the slightest bit, but I wouldn’t recommend ‘buying small'. The fit is really great, huge props for Patagonia’s first dive into a MTB short. Without being too baggy they have plenty of room for movement in the legs and can go with our without kneepads, I always go without. On a few occasions there was a snag on the tip of the saddle, but that was just one or two times. I really like the fact that they have classic front pockets, allowing me to easily transition from high-country ride to tailgate beers. The zippered pocket is well positioned on the left so whatever is in there won’t ride on your thigh. The belt loops are something I’ve never thought of on a cycling short but were nice and I found myself stashing my gloves in those pockets for the last 30 minutes or so of the ride. I have the size 32 and might be better suited in a 30 but these will continue to get the job done. The zipper fly is a quality touch over hook
