Bangtail Divide, Warrior Creek, the Kokopelli: Check them off your bucket list. Our Dirt Craft shorts combine a removable, durable, 3-layer mountain bike–specific padded liner with a do-anything outer short. The comfortable and supportive polyester/spandex stretch liner incorporates power mesh panels for enhanced breathability and connects to the stretchy, quiet, plain-weave nylon/spandex outer short fabric via a low-profile hook-and-webbing waist adjustment. A DWR (durable water repellent) treatment, drop-in hand pockets, a secure zippered pocket (fits most phones) on the side of the left thigh, and reflective logos at left-side hem and right-back hip. With knee articulation and an 11.5" inseam.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Dirt Craft Bike Shorts is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Chamois problems The chamois is pretty great for short jaunts, but on the first multi-hour, super-humid ride, the front of the chamois started chafing badly (be prepared to ride commando). Length of the shell is a little long for my taste, but that's what the kids are wearing these days. Also, the front pockets are pretty much useless as they interfere with pedaling. The shell material is really light and comfortable when dry, but tends to grab when wet. In summary-- not bad, but definitely not great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great biking gear These are the most comfortable biking shorts that I have worn. I use them for both off road and road biking and they have been outstanding.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Outer Short, but Not Inner Love the outer short, but every time that I wore the liner short it chafed my butt where I came into contact with the seat. I have never had this problem with any other short. I ended up returning them due to this. I know that this is Patagonia's first try with mountain bike apparel, so I'm hoping for better in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and functional Been using these almost daily for about a month now. The fig is good and the inner liner stays in place and is comfortable. As others have stated I wish the inner liner was sold as a separate item I would like that as I end up washing this after each ride. Having a second one would make life better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice shorts, okay liner The actual short part of these is killer. Light weight, basically water proof, breathable, comfy, etc. The liner is nice too, but the chamois unfortunately doesn't fit me correctly. After wearing them for a few months I'm officially giving them up because they dig into my crotch and cause some serious pain/chafing. Probably just a personal fit thing, but it sure would be nice if they were sold separately. I'd get the shorts again, but not the liner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the right fit. I really wanted to like these. The materials are great: durable and light weight. They just fit very strangely. I have pretty skinny legs and hips, and these are very constrictive. The chamois, while made well, is super tight and uncomfortable. The strange part, to me, is that the over-shorts fit. The waist fits fine, and the length is pretty much perfect. It's just tight during articulation, i.e. the pedal stroke. It's a bummer, because I really wanted to like these, and they're not cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit - Great styling I have zero complaints with these. I'm 185, 6'1" and the large fit perfectly. You can fine tune sizing with the onboard belt system. I often wear them without the padded liners, but if it's any substantial ride, i'll run the liner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YES! Why are there not more shorts like these!? Yes, they're a bit steep but I bought them at full price and feel pretty darn good about it. I now have about 20-25 rides on these on WA trails. I own a few examples of similar shorts from other manufacturers. Patagonia has put some solid thought into these liners. The pads are functional without unobtrusive - they don't bunch or hold excessive moisture. The liner fabric is soft and wicking without any irritating seams. And the liners attach to the outer shorts with a little snap (brilliant!) that makes washing them so much easier. The stretchy outer shorts seems durable so far and have pockets that have held onto my keys through some pretty rough terrain when I forgot to put them into my pack. Perhaps best of all, though, they have an adjustable waitband, so I'm not catching mud with my shorts or catching my shorts on the nose of my saddle. Bottom line: super functional with a great fit. I don't notice them at all, which is exactly what I want.
