Offering rugged durability and unrestricted freedom of movement, our Field Hacking Pants are built for covering hard miles while protecting you from moisture and dense brush. They're made from a stretchy 50% nylon/43% polyester/7% spandex fabric with a 2-layer waterproof, puncture-resistant polyester twill on the front legs, back lower legs and seat for additional protection. To shrug off changing weather, a DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds dew and drizzle; the zippered fly, internal elastic waistband, belt loops and gusseted crotch ensure convenience, fit and comfort. Two zippered side utility pockets, a rear zippered security pocket and a pair of front pockets store and haul what you need. At the bottom hem, a metal hook secures cuffs to boots.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Field Hacking Pants is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Real Deal Favorite Features: Elastic waist Front panel durability Adjustable ankle clips, not buttons These are the price of 3 pants, and they'll last even longer than that. Soft fleece elastic waist and inside feel make me look forward to putting these on. I am not kidding. Typical day in them: hike a few miles, beat up on sage brush, piñons, wade the Chama, swim the Chama, the occasional rock slide. Yes, I ripped the top layer on the backside. They're double lined for a reason and I don't recommend falling and sliding on rocks with or without the pants. Thoroughly satisfied with the durability through the brush and temperature management. I've swam in these twice crossing rivers and they get right back to work on the trail. Having them soaked is not a hindrance to more miles. You will stay dry if you're just tracking through the morning dew as well. Bottom Line: They feel really good and you know you can make your own trail if you have to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real Pants These pants are old time Patagonia durable and reliable meets new Patagonia high tech and rugged. I have been wearing almost exclusively Patagonia clothes since the mid-seventies, including Patagonia Sports Coats to this day, so I know some things about Patagonia. The Hacking Pants must come out of the Patagonia military combat kits my SF brother wears. They are real deal on every level. Tough as nails, water proof in the wettest field, stretchy every place you need freedom of movement. Although I have three pairs of Field Pants, these are another level up for really rugged field and mountain work. They fit great (although like most of Patagonia pants need taking up unless you play for the NBA). The fit over a boot is generous and easily adjusts tight with a solid cuff adjustment...could actually use them for skiing! These are not delicate pants but far more instantly comfortable than your average hunting or construction pants. I am moving right into them and saving for another pair.
