Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Guidewater Ii Pants is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from New fit is very tight I agree with the other reviewer that the new fit of these pants is very tight and restrictive. I have a pair from a few years ago that fits perfectly, recently ordered a pair of the current year model and fit is very tight in the crotch/thigh area. I guess Patagonia is trying to update to a hipper fit but it is not functional for outdoor activities. For reference I am a skinny, 5'11" 155 lb male and the medium is way too restrictive. When Patagonia gets things right they make an awesome product, however this is a typical problem that they change the fit of something that has been great for years. The result is that you go back to buy another pair of a product you loved and it no longer fits.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed in Patagonia. Patagonia changed the fit of these pants. I have used them for over ten years and absolutely loved them. I've pretty much worn nothing else during that time. A year or two ago they changed there fit and not for the better! They are now tighter everywhere and no I haven't put on any weight been same weight since college. Theses have been my work pants and I have loved them. I guess I will have to look elsewhere as there new version is not wearable any more. Why would you do this Patagonia? So if you have an old pair of these cherish them and don't waste your money the new metrosexual cut as they will be nothing like your old pair. If you wear skinny jeans these will be perfect for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent pants for flyfishing without wadders I bought these pants for fishing in warmish shallow water in Wyoming and they were perfect. They dry out very rapidly and they fit and look good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pants I've ever owned I'm 6 ft 180 and the large fits perfect. a little baggy but that's what I was looking for. my go to for fishing or any occasion really..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from utilitarian perfection I purchased the Guidewater pants specifically for bonefishing the flats and stalking corbina in the surf. I fish with pants primarily for protection from the sun, rock&coral shin scrapes, and errant flies lodging in my flesh while casting. Key desirability attributes are durability, coloration for camouflage, speed for drying, and minimal drag when wet. The Guidewater pants met and exceeded these expectations with added benefits such as waist elasticity and zippered back pocket. I purchased the pants around one month ago and have put them to the test in savage dead reefs in Hawaii and on the Ventura coast. 100% satisfied! Though somewhat unrelated, I strongly encourage purchasing the Sunshade Technical Hoody (light bog) to round out your outfit. I won't get into the rambling details...but this hoody is the best fishing shirt I have used to date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pants around for on the water You just don't beat these things in the heat. I spend so much time in the sun on a flats skiff that I need to keep covered, sunscreen doesn't do the trick. These pants do it! They keep the heat away and the sun off your legs. They're comfortable, dry quickly, and they're easy to wash. I even rock them in the winter here in Charleston with long johns and no problem. Just get 'em!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product suggestion I have a couple pairs of these (or similar) Patagonia wading pants and like them, but I find they are a little whimpy for rough approaches through brush, etc. I looked at the field pants, but they are not quick dry fabric. Here is a product suggestion, make a knock-off of the Guidewater with light nylon reinforcement on the thighs. I'd buy a pain in a heartbeat - and would recommend them to clients!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Wet Wading Pant on the Planet These take a beating in wet wading and bashing through the scrub and hold up better than any other fishing pant I have worn.
