bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What can't these pants do? I bought these pants because my butt and waist are too big for many pants. The light weight but rugged nylon construction and nice looks makes them suitable for a myriad of activities, such as working in the office, commuting on the bus, fishing, hiking, camping, computing extinction probabilities on the computer using R, kayaking, doing yard work, going on trips, etc. I count on Patagonia to develop clothing and gear that are optimal for multi-tasking, and they seldom if ever let me down. On many occasions I have slept in the same clothing that I wear to work. Patagonia gives me consistent quality and versatility.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice pants Haven't worn these quite enough to know how they'll hold up but so far am pleased with the fit and color. The material was a little heavier then I expected which means they will dry slower but last longer then my favorite pair of patagonia pants which finally gave up the ghost last year. I did find that the pants are a little tight when I try to take a big step up which I found surprising. Not sure why this is as most of my older patagonia pants have had a great range of motion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They do it all The only reason these pants come off is when they need washed. I've worn these to my day job, driving across a few states, then wade fishing in them and around the campfire at night. In every condition they've excelled and they've been abused for a couple months--still in great condition. I hope this product is around for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants for wading while fly fishing There is an awful lot to like about these pants. The wide beltloop in the back keeps the pants in place and looking nice. The absence of metal is welcome when it is hot. The pocket on the right thigh fits an 8 weight reel, no problem. The material dries quickly of course. The fit is comfortable without too much excess fabric so there isn't any flapping pants legs while wading in river current. The fit around the thighs is great, too. No flapping fabric in the wind either. Color is understated and easily matches lots of shirts.
