Even if you’re chucking streamers at the bank from a drift boat, you still need to stay dry. Wet boat seats, sudden downpours and that little side-channel you have to fish on foot all call for the comfort and convenience of our waist-high Gunnison Gorge Wading Pants. Built with single-seam construction that routes critical seams away from areas of highest wear for increased durability—and our tested-and-proven 4-layer H2No® Performance Standard fabric with a waterproof/breathable barrier and DWR (durable water repellent) finish—the Gunnisons keep you dry and comfy from the waist down. Out of the water, they look and feel like regular pants, with a side gusset that creates a clean-fitting tailored waist and makes them easy to get on and off, self-fabric belt loops and a stretch wading belt with a low-profile buckle for an adjustable fit. Anatomically curved knees and a modified Y-Joint crotch increase flexibility, while the flat-panel gravel guards drain water more quickly than our old design and resist abrasion and wear while hiking or wading. Below the gravel guards, our booties have a more anatomical, sock-like fit and are made from a denser 4mm neoprene that resists compaction better over the long haul. And because you’re always just one step away from an unintended swim, the internal, waterproof TPU-welded utility pocket protects camera, phone or alarm remote. Field repair kit included.
  • H2No® Performance Standard polyester microfiber shell with proprietary waterproof/breathable barrier and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • Innovative SSC (single seam construction) seaming eliminates seams from highest wear points on inside of legs
  • Self-fabric belt loops; full elastic belt; interior center-back hanger loop for easy drying
  • Side gusset for easy on/off and a clean, tailored fit at the waist
  • Articulated legs
  • Anatomical left and right booties have lower volume and a more sock-like fit; resilient 4mm neoprene resists compaction for greater durability
  • Streamlined flat-panel gravel guards drain water faster and are more resistant to abrasion and wear

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Patagonia developed the 4-layer fabric construction for our waders to increase breathability and abrasion resistance, move moisture away from the body, and decrease the weight.

Our exterior fabrics are densely woven 100% polyester microfibers for durability and puncture resistance. On one side we apply our H2No® waterproof coating for waterproof/breathable performance. On the other side we apply a Hydrophilic laminate that pulls moisture away from the body so it can be passed out through the exterior shell.

To protect the hydrophilic laminate we use a soft polyester tricot lining that increases abrasion resistance yet maintains a soft, supple drape. Finally, we apply a DWR (durable water repellent) treatment as the first line of defense in keeping these waders waterproof.

Men's Gunnison Gorge Wading Pants - Reg is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice light convenient and comfortable I fish in these wading pants 80 - 100 days per year and I really like them. They are definitely nice and well made and they are also very light. The trouser like pockets are so very very convenient that I feel lost when wearing conventional waders. The way the waist is constructed also makes them very comfortable, although I usually replace the elasticized belt with one that does not stretch. However, I believe it is important to note that because they are so lightweight there is definitely a need for maintenance such as cleaning and attending to leaks. But I'm waaaay committed to these wading pants. :-_-:

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Size is way off!!! Size chart said 32 waist, 32 inseam, 9-11 shoe. Actual size was 32 waist, at least a 38 inseam, and size 13 shoe. Returned

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just get 'em I've been wanting these for years and finally pulled the trigger. Low bulk, easy on/off with the side gussets and just plain comfortable- even ride my bike in them to the local stream. I have about 15 days in them from pre-runoff cold with longies to the now-warming temps with just shorts underneath and they have performed flawlessly. From errant nymph snags to bushwhacking the fabric is holding up just fine. Gripe? Zip lock pocket inside the waist band is a snug for an iphone SE. Easy solution- ditch the phone. Suggestion: If your fishing involves 4th class slab moves and groveling add some cheapo neoprene knee braces just to protect the fabric.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great when full waders are overkill Bought specifically to fish small mountain streams in the Adirondacks and for stalking stripers along the inlets and estuaries of Cape Cod. Have logged enough miles doing both to appreciate how light and functional these waders are, particularly useful when full waders are overkill, or you are fishing out of a guide boat. Ordered an XL Regular, they fit well enough but I probably would have been better off with a XL Short as the inseam on these runs a little long on me. I am 6’1” and wear a 38x32 regular pant and need to cinch the belt up pretty tight to keep em from slouching. These are now permanently stored in my truck tub along with my other waders and see equal duty depending on the water, the weather, and the whims of the fish gods.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great waders 3rd pair I've had. Great features. Wish you wouldn't have discontinued the 'tall' option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maybe the best ever I bought these waders for my son, I have been a fly fisherman for over 50 years and have been an instructor for 30 of those years. I have been a big fan of Simms for years but these new Patagonia waders have made me a believer..... my next waders will be Patagonia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit These pants fit great. Feet are comfortable and the XLM sizing if nice not to have huge feet to squish in the boots. Pants with pockets are great for getting out in all seasons. No extra bulk of folding down chest waders is a huge plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight Packable Waders! I've been a "wet-wader" for too many years, mostly in NC & TN. I thought that I'd give these pants a try and fish some of the colder months of the year. So glad I did! I thought I would hate fishing in waders, but these are very comfortable, great fit. Light-weight and great pockets. They pack up great for those of us who backpack & fly fish.
