Tools, crampons, Spartan rack: Go. Our Levitation Hoody breathes freely, stretches fully and protects against wind and snow to help you float up high-output ice and mixed climbs. A tough yet supple polyester stretch-woven shell withstands coarse granite, while the helmet-compatible hood, with laminated visor and single-pull adjustment, provides exceptional coverage without limiting your vision. Minimalist detailing includes our stretchy Variable Conditions Cuffs, which integrate cleanly with your climbing gloves; two zippered handwarmer pockets above harness line; and a zippered left-chest pocket. An interior wind flap behind the front zipper seals out drafts, microfleece covers the zipper at the chin and the seam behind the neck for next-to-skin comfort, and the drawcord hem cinches from inside the handwarmer pockets. With DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Levitation Hoody is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, breathable and sheds water well I bought the hoody first in neon ad had problems with easy staining. I then returned it for the green color which I love. It goes in my pack most of the time and is a great shelter when breath ability is needed during activities. The pockets and hood are sized and positioned well. I am 6'2" and a large fits well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket! Fantastic softshell jacket! Breathable, weather-proof, perfect weight. Put it to the test ski touring in the northern Selkirk Mountains in BC, Canada. It handled every condition we encountered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice looking; lightweight; Patagonia quality. Bought this for cool and/or rainy weather. Also as a shell over a Nano Air jacket. Great buy. I usually wear a size medium, but got a large in order to layering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The go-to jacket for most occasions This is a great all-around jacket. It is light enough for active pursuits, and sleek enough for the urban commute. It's also water repellant enough for light drizzles. The fit is great, and supports most activities whether it's a jog around town or a night out with friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What hole? Awesome jacket. 1. I keep putting my hands in the pockets to find the hole a few people mentioned. Maybe you should return it. Mine definitely does not have holes. 2. As for the person who said it blocks the wind but you feel the coolness of the air, that's exactly my experience, but... that's where layering comes in, and I run very warm even in temperatures below 20 degrees, and especially on my bike, and I appreciate the breathability and that I don't over heat in this jacket. When it's extremely cold, I wear my Patagonia Capilene Daily short-sleeve t-shirt and my Patagonia cashmere sweater, and I'm good to go. 3. The neck zips up high, and with a gaiter, I am extremely warm. 4. With the hood on (I wear it under my bike helmet), and a thermax hat, I am extremely comfortable. 5. Someone mentioned a problem with the cuffs. They are just-right snug, and my mittens pull right up over them while they stay in place. 6. I am concerned about the seams being glued. I have had bad luck with the seams of Patagonia garments. I had one soft-shell years ago, and after a couple years of use, where when I was putting it on, my arm went right through the back of the jacket where it was glued together. I suppose gluing is cheaper to manufacture than stitch, but I wish Patagonia would pay attention to this and stop using glue. When I brought it back to the store (I live near one), they asked me if I ever washed it. I never did, and he told me sweat will break down the glue. Well, maybe, but if it's true, and these are high performance garments where sweat is likely, then they should consider that. I mean, how often are you supposed to wash it? If you sweat every day in it, the sweat is going to get at it all the time, and washing every so often isn't going to make much of a difference. I'm certainly not going to wash it frequently like I do shirts and other stuff. Overall, this jacket is every bit of 5 stars, and I highly recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unless you wear a helmet, forget it I'm just looking for travel gear for cold & windy times. Not a rock climber or daredevil, so I NEVER wear a helmet Mom. The hood requires a helmeted head in order to fit you.
