Years of tinkering and refinement culminate in the M10™ Anorak, our ultralight 3-layer alpine shell jacket, representing the optimal balance of minimalist design and protection essential for the most critical high alpine objectives.

Read More Close
For climbers obsessed with shaving grams and streamlining their systems, our M10™ Anorak embodies the ethos of single-push perfection—when efficiency matters and actions have consequence, you don’t care if a pullover musses your hair. We took our most minimal alpine shell and honed it even further, with a trim half-zip silhouette that won’t pooch in the belly and ensures you can see every dime edge and verglas smear (thus negating excuse #43: But I couldn’t see my feet!). Its engineered pattern eliminates seams from the shoulders and back panel, reducing points of failure and enhancing the modest stretch of the fabric. The anorak is built with an ultralight, 3-layer, H2No® Performance Standard waterproof/breathable nylon ripstop with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Ultrasonic-welded seams are reinforced with narrow seam tape for superlow bulk, and the helmet-compatible hood with laminated visor and single-pull adjustment rolls down and stows with a simplified cord-and-hook design. The exterior left-chest pocket closes with a coated, watertight zipper, and the jacket self-stuffs into its chest pocket (with carabiner clip-in loop). Ultraminimal cuffs seal out weather, and a single-pull drawcord cinches the hem.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Weatherproof

3-layer H2No® Performance Standard fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable by virtue of an advanced combination of elements: a water-repellent shell fabric and a waterproof/breathable membrane bonded with an ultralight knit backer. The entire fabric package is highly packable and designed for prolonged use in extreme weather.

3-layer H2No™ Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No® mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our 24 Killer Wash.

Men's M10™ Anorak is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Longest rain shell available, perfectly designed After investigating all the other Patagonia rain shell options in last season's product release (early 2017), the M10 Anorak was the longest shell and best suited for slim athletic builds. The M10 Mens Medium measures: Chest Front Length 24.5 inches, center back to hem 37 inches. Whereas the runner-up Storm Racer Mens Medium measures: Chest Front Length 23.5 inches, center back to hem 36 inches. That extra inch is very noticeable when cycling or climbing, or doing just about anything. Anorak for the win. Again, I have the previous generation (Mens Medium, Campfire Orange / Electric Blue Zipper), so I can't speak to the two newer colors if they are different dimensions or not. The M10 Anorak deep-zipper is great for any activity that requires one to bend forward (climbing, cycling, etc), a motion that causes most full-zips to buckle awkwardly. That said, this shell integrates very well with the Mens Nano-Air Light Hoodie that also has a deep-zipper. Needless to say, it is very light too. If I have one proactive piece of feedback to give it would be for Patagonia to make more Mens Medium articles to these M10 Anorak dimensions, as they are spot on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Breathable - humm? Excellent fit, super light -keeps the rain off - BUT not breathable during any form of even moderate prolonged exertion, I was really surprised to see the level of moisture build up in this jacket. f

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, waterproof, and perfect for hiking Wore this first for several days in the pouring rain on section K of the pct and then in pouring rain in the alps for several days. First if you are looking for a super tough jacket with pit zips, pockets, etc then this is not the piece for you. this is the piece for those of us who want no features except breathability, reasonable durability, super waterproof, and light, light, light. The jacket performed very well in the rain. with a little care not to push too hard uphill i never sweated it out. The DWR worked well and never wetted out unlike say my rain pants. the material is super light but durable. one of the unexpected advantages of this jacket is that is is so light weight that it worked well as a wind shirt for thse cold blowy days as it feels more like a highly functional shirt than it does a jacket or coat. And at 7oz it's the king of I done mind carrying it on the sunny days because it might rain in a few days. So on our many day traverses this year it was a perfect and high performance rain and wind shell. Also, my companions commented on how much they enjoyed the color especially on those dreary rain days.
