Additional Information

Built for the highest exertion mountain athletes and objectives, the Nano-Air® Light Hoody offers the same dynamic stretch as the Nano-Air Hoody but with 75% more breathability and two-thirds the insulation.

Read More Close
Keeping in mind those who redline in the alpine, our Nano-Air® Light Hoody represents another step forward. This light, stretchy, extended-range midlayer quickly became a tester and ambassador favorite due to its dynamic insulation and sweet-spot breathability. The fabric package sheds snow and maintains the same impressive stretch as our regular Nano-Air (100% stretch nylon shell and liner), but it’s three-quarters more breathable and a third less insulative (using 40-g FullRange® 100% polyester stretch insulation)—meaning, you’ll never need to take it off. The stripped-down, deep-venting pullover silhouette remains trim through the midsection, while the engineered pattern eliminates seams across the shoulders and back, thus removing abrasion points and enhancing comfort. The hood works alone, under a helmet or stretches over lower-profile helmets, and the polyester/spandex stretch-woven cuffs are shaped, patterned and seamed to reduce bulk when layered and allow easy push-up without constricting the forearms. With an exterior left-chest zippered pocket.
Features
  • Light yet durable 100% nylon ripstop shell and plain-weave liner, both with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, offer generous mechanical stretch and exceptional breathability
  • Revolutionary 40-g FullRange® insulation warms and stretches; combined with the shell and liner, this creates excellent mechanical stretch and unprecedented air permeability (70CFM)
  • Engineered pattern avoids all seaming across the shoulders and back, eliminating abrasion points and enhancing stretch
  • Stretchy hood with elastic binding is warm and simple
  • Pullover silhouette has deep center-front zipper to allow for quick venting and easy on-off
  • Exterior left-chest zip pocket
  • Stretch-woven cuffs are shaped, patterned and seamed for low-bulk layering, and push up easily without constricting forearms

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomber Piece I've quite few different Patagonia pieces over the year. This is far and away the BEST piece I've ever owned. It has become my day to day piece. Perfect for spring/fall days skiing in the Sierra or as a layer under a down piece on the colder days. I cannot say enough good things. I'm 5'11" and weight 205 lbs with an athletic build. The Large fits great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Hoody Ever The Nano-Air Light Hoody is perfectly suited for every outdoor activity. It is warm, light, breathable, comfortable, and moves superbly. I am impressed with the range of temperatures that I were this jacket it in. It appears to be durable and is easy to wash. It truly is the best hoody ever and I have worn it every day since I got it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite jacket Amazing light-weight jacket that insulates in fair weather or active exercise. Great on it's own, or easily layer over the hoody for added warmth. The band of elastic on the cuffs are nice and fitted around the wrists, keeping the sleeve in place. I love the half-zip, especially because it goes below mid-torso. The pocket is a little deeper than I need, but could easily fit a pair of gloves inside. Keep in mind the fit is slim. I'm a pretty slim dude and usually fit a XS, but needed a S because of the cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ideal outer layer for working hard in 20-50 F I love this jacket and wear it more than any other when I'm playing outside. Super comfy under a backpack. Would probably be even better with a pouch style pocket in the front to stick my hands in, but I love its simplicity. I'm 5'9 135 and the mens small is a perfect fit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For Cold-Weather Athletes The nano air light jacket is a wonderful jacket for outdoor adventures. I used over the winter skiing daily, and it was my go-to jacket. Breathability--5 Construction--5 Durability--4 Comfort-5 The fit is slim, just the way I like it. I am 5'10" and got a medium, which fit me perfectly. The hem of the jacket overlaps about an inch with my ski pants, and the sleeves are big enough to slip a base-layer underneath (but not much else.) They are just long enough for me to slip my hands into for truly, but don't scrunch up. The hood, while a bit dorky, is wonderful, sealing up the head wonderfully for when I forget my hat, or the wind is blowing hard. The construction of the jacket is solid. The zippers work smoothly. I appreciate only having the breast pocket on this jacket, though I realize some people like to stash stuff in hand-pockets. Another note, the breast pocket is very large, and un-anchored to the liner, so with stuff in it it can flop around, stuff will be hanging by your belly button if there is enough of it. The only reservation I have about this jacket is the exterior durability. The fabric on the outside is very fine, to allow water to exit, but it catches threads very easily, and after four months of (daily) use, there is some pilling and caught threads. I haven't seen any real problems about this, though. Performance-wise, I give this jacket a perfect 5. With a synthetic t-shirt and thin base-layer, I can ski from 10 degrees F to 30. The breathability is fantastic. I skied a 25k race with gnarly hills with this set-up and never got drenched in sweat (27 F weather). However, this fantastic breathability does mean that the wind goes right through the coat. If it's going to be windy, bring a shell. The comfort and unbeatable lightness of this jacket (though not compressibility or wrinkle-free) often tempts me to wear it over a t-shirt on my way to classes. I looks nice enough, even if it is decently-technical looking, and the nano air light's performance make it a great jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for spring sailing Fits really well underneath my preserver. I also love this item for how truly light it is yet just warm enough for spring hiking and such. This is truly a gem in Patagonia's overall lineup. I am 6' and 160 lb, and medium worked great for me.
