Storm cycles, dry spells and overhead powder come and go, but the thrill of dropping into your favorite line in any condition never wavers. We make the Powder Bowl Pants for all of winter’s moods, all season long. Our most versatile bottoms for riding frontside steeps, Powder Bowls have a rugged, 2-layer, 100% polyester GORE-TEX® fabric for exceptional waterproof/breathable and windproof performance, a highly articulated fit and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish that prevents saturation. Inside, a combination of brushed mesh and polyester taffeta throughout the seat, upper thighs and down the legs manages moisture and glides smoothly over underlayers. External, mesh-lined thigh vents let you regulate your climate on the uptrack, and articulated knees provide unlimited mobility for catching big air (or recovering from said air). Other features include coated, watertight slim zips for reduced bulk, gaiters with tenacious gripper elastic, an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector, adjustable tabs at the waist for a customized fit, and burly scuff guards to protect the inside of the leg and hem from ski edges and postholing abuse. Pockets include two handwarmers, one thigh and one in back. Inseam length is 30½".

Weatherproof

The construction of 2-Layer GORE-TEX® Products is unique. A GORE-TEX® membrane is bonded to an outer material, then combined with a free-flowing lining. The benefit: a soft, lightweight garment that keeps you dry and lets you move freely.

The GORE-TEX® membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside. But these same pores are large enough for moisture vapor to pass through, so your body's perspiration is able to escape and you won’t feel clammy or uncomfortable inside your jacket.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Powder Bowl Pants - Short is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from powder bowl pants Love the pants but what happened to the gaiter design? I mean it is about 1.5 - 2 inches too big in diameter. The gaiter on the snowshot pant is the right size for ski boots. I am not a snowboarder, so I assume those boots are larger diameter and you may be tailoring to this end of the market - trying to make universal? I get it if that is why, but give skiers an option to adjust the gaiter to fit ski boots using a drawstring, velcro or snaps. Poor design on the gaiters that makes the pants not the best for skiers. Returning mine sorry to say. Please redesign this year, if you will.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gaiters WAY to big. Please, please, please change the internal gaiters back to the way they used to be. I have owned many generations of this pant and have always loved them. This years pant has gaiters that are so large they render the pants unusable. 95% of all my clothing/gear is patagonia and I can't speak highly enough about almost every product i have purchased. I hate to be writing a negative review but am doing so only to hopefully be able to purchase these pants, with a reasonably sized internal gaiter,in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomber All Around Snow Pants Don't believe the other review on these pants. It's a guy who's over 6' and ordered short pants, it makes no sense. I have an older pair of these that probably have about 6-7 years on them and 100s of days of resort and backcountry skiing and snowboarding. The have been bulletproof. I just received the new ones and here is my analysis. The styling is a little more updated. The old ones were a little more baggy and oversized which was fine considering I sized down. These new ones are a little more snug in the waist/hips. I'm 5'7' 150 lbs with a 31" waist and before I was a solid small. I initially ordered a medium and returned them for a small and they fit great just a little more fitted than the old ones. They have Waterproof zippers on all the important parts. They also have a feature that I've been looking for for years. They have mesh in the side zips. Old Burton pants had this and I haven't seen it in a long time. basically when moving through deep snow with vents open, this ensures no snow falls in your pants and melts down into your boots. A no brainer. I love it. So far so good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Powder Bowl Pant I purchased these to replace my old Patagonia pants only to immediately send them back. I've worn Patagonia ski pants ever since they came into production. Use to wear The North Face ski pants back in the 1980's. When I tried these on with my ski boots I was shocked that the internal gaiters did not fit tightly around my ski boot and grip them so they would stay in place. The gaiters were so loose that when I flexed my legs they would come up which would allow snow to come into my ski boot. I'm 6'5" tall and weight 200lbs and wear a size 11/29.0 ski boot which tells you the ski boot is big and a good fitting ski pant/gaiter should have worked. Not sure who is overseeing the production and fit but it needs to have some better thought on what works and doesn't work. I never had any problems with any of my other dozen pair of Patagonia pants that I've purchased and used in the past. Disappointed!
