We stand behind everything we make, including our wetsuits. But wetsuits require care if they are going to perform and wear the way they were intended. Patagonia is not responsible for wetsuits that are abused or show normal wear and tear over time. Scratches and fading are inevitable, as are tears from the occasional close call with a fin. Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Men's R1 Fz L/S Spring Suit is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go to summer suit Perfect for cold mornings and windy overcast days, this suit is comfortable, flexible and everything I'd hope it to be. Easy on/off, good flexibility without either strangling the thighs or being too loose and flushing constantly, I love this suit!!!! Only drawback (for me) is a very awkward key loop location. The loop is in the dead middle of the chest, so that your key sits between your pecs. I didn't get stabbed all summer, but it definitely crossed my mind on those bigger days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multi-Purpose Wetsuit Debated buying this wetsuit for quite some time. Most surfing wetsuits aren't great for diving, as they are more buoyant and are not designed for deep water. I found this wetsuit to be pretty multipurpose. I went spearfishing in the bahamas, the water temperature was 75F, and found this suit to be perfect, if anything a little warm. The flexibility actually was great for spearfishing, as it involved active swimming. It didn't keep me overly buoyant and therefore allowed me to dive with ease. I am looking forward to using while surfing. The synthetic wool inside kept me quite warm. I am 5'9", 165 pounds. The suit might have been a little snug, but still flexible. Only had a little trouble getting it off when wet. Very happy with the suit, and am very much looking forward to wearing it in the near future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware the zipper Since none of the other reviews of this or any of the other Patagonia front-zip wetsuits mention this issue, the problems I had may be a result of my own ineptitude. Nonetheless, the zipper on this thing defeated me completely. The wetsuit went on easily enough. It fit well. It was flexible and seemed to be of high quality. In short, I liked it a lot, and was anxious to get it out in the water. However, the zipper is the kind that has to be matched to close, as one might find on a coat or jacket, as opposed to one that is closed at one end and need only be zipped open or shut as one might find on a pair of pants. I was unable to match the ends of the zipper to get it started, perhaps because it was in an awkward position under my chin. In any event, I worked myself into a dead sweat and painfully dislocated a knuckle in the effort, but it defeated me. I had a difficult time even zipping the thing after I got it off and laid it on a table. Now, I have had several decades experience with both zippers and wetsuits, but this one utterly flummoxed me. My only consolation was that all my futile and somewhat comical efforts took place in my own home and not down at the beach, where I suppose I would have either had to ask someone to zip me up or to slink home in shame without ever getting wet. So, word to the wise. If you have had experience with this sort of wetsuit zip, and it gives you no trouble, I would recommend the R1 wholeheartedly. But if this is your first experience with a front zip wetsuit, you should be aware that getting into it might not be as easy as one would expect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge improvement Leaps and bounds better in terms of materials and fit from prior seasons. The suit has a significantly more stretch throughout, particularly in shoulders and arms. The rubber has a more "buttery" feel to it than some of the rubber they were using in the last few years. They also removed the stitched cuff in the sleeve, allowing for a more natural feeling fit. Great for cooler spring and fall days here in Southeastern NC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Spring suit Love this bad boy! I tend to run a little warm and this suit is perfect in South FL when the air and water both dip in the 60's during Winter and you need a little something more than just a top. It isn't restrictive at all, is super comfy for a wetsuit and I don't seem to get tired out faster while paddling like I used to in other wetsuits. I purchased a medium and am 180lbs, 5'10". This fits me perfect. Thank you
