The pitch of a lifetime rises above. Whose lead? Rock, paper, scissors: best two out of three. Throw your magic and rack up. Our RPS Pants were crafted for unrestricted movement on techy routes. Made from a nylon/polyester stretch-woven blend with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, they’re our lightest-weight rock-climbing pants. Minimalist detailing includes a crotch gusset and articulated patterning, a separating zip-fly waist with belt loops and our innovative OppoSet™ adjustable closure, and cuffs that cinch with an ultralow-profile shock cord and friction knot. With two drop-in pockets with mesh backing, two rear pockets that double as a reinforced seat and a right-thigh zip pocket that stays clear of leg loops.
  • Light and breathable synthetic-blend fabric has modest stretch and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish

  • Drop-in hand pockets have breathable mesh pocket bags, darts for a lay-flat entry and a coin-catch bartack that doubles as a toothbrush holder
  • Two rear, top-entry pockets create a reinforced seat for added durability
  • Right-thigh security zip pocket sits comfortably above the knee and below harness leg loops
  • Cuffs adjust with an ultralow-profile shock cord and sliding knot
  • 4.5-oz 52% nylon/48% polyester stretch plain weave with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • 312 g (11 oz)
  • Made in Vietnam.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Rps Rock Pants is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Put these through a pretty thorough testing and would have to say these are some of my favorite 3 season pants. From a climbing perspective, they've been great and the cinch at the bottom is way underrated in general, working perfectly on these pants. I also have used these as general hiking pants in the summer in the 50-60s (sunny) temperature range and it was great, not over heating much and just cinching the legs up as needed. Took these also on a tour through Iceland in the summer, where the temperatures were ranging in the 40-50s (cloudy) and plenty of rain/moisture. I did wear a baselayer below and through a few light showers and walking around the waterfalls they dried out quickly. Would absolutely recommend. If I were to make one recommendation to the designers. I think the upper legs are appropriately sized to be flexible on these pants, but I would like to see the lower leg a little more tapered, and think that would still afford the style and performance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for rope climbing Lightweight, durable and the drawstring cuff are all good features. I have found them a bit restricting in the thigh - the material could use some more stretch or the crotch / quads could use some room. I find myself pulling these pants way up before giving a burn bouldering. Under a harness they function well because the leg loops can keep the pants where you want them... likely would have purchased the cotton (venga rock pants) had I been able to try on both in a store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from flexible responce to conditions Purchased these pants for traveling the Far East, they are light, easy to pack and comfortably worn over thermal under underwear when needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I love these pants. Just can't stop wearing them. Most comfortable pants I've owned. I'm tempted to sleep in them. They are Perfect!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Disappointing - these USED to be GREAT pants!! I've purchased several pairs of these pants over the past couple years - all 35 waist - and I love them. They are really great pants and fit perfectly - not to big; not too small. Goldilocks - just right. They even have the waist cinch drawstring thru the button for fine tuning the fit. Super comfortable and durable. However, I recently ordered a new pair (Spring 2017), and suddenly, I'm swimming in the same size 35s that have traditionally fit so well. Thought it must just be an outlier - no big deal - so I return those and re-ordered two more pair - but sadly - the (new) song remains the same. The new fit is WAY too big - there's at least an extra inch of material in both the waist in and the legs. So I went down a size and tried the 34s, and while those work in the waist given the "new larger" fit - the rest of the pant is just too small overall. Sure hope the design folks at Patagonia will see fit to restore these pants to their former glory and do away with this very disappointing new design. Plea: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These darn pockets Why does Patagonia attach the perimeter of their upper front packets to the outside of the pant on all of their pants?? Even rock climbers, fieldworkers, or hikers sit down (and ride in cars), and these attached pockets causes everything to slide out while sitting! There is no purpose to this!! (unless they are running pants so thing aren't jingling about when running) Who climbs with items in the front pockets anyways?? If the pockets hung loose, one would not have to constantly worry about important items falling out when resting 3 days into a backpacking trip, sitting down at night while camping (and losing something in the dark), or 3 miles out in the middle of nowhere when doing fieldwork! Huge downside to a great pair of pants On a different note, I have a 32" waist and some reviews said to down size, so I did and bought 31", and they are sill huge

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pants terrible size options Bought these pants, I was very excited to receive them. The waist turned out to be too big (I wear a 30-31) and got the 31". I returned the pants, and wanted to get the 30" but they do not offer it in a 32" inseam. Patagonia, there are people with small waists and long legs. Please allow optional inseams for such a great pant. You're limiting your customers.
