We like the Stormdrift with freshly brewed storms, dropping temperatures and a foot or so of Buffalo’s lake effect. Designed to keep you moving freely even though winter tries to freeze you in your tracks, this cold-weather H2No® Performance Standard parka features a rugged 2-layer 100% nylon shell with a canvas aesthetic for mountaineering-level waterproof/breathable performance in the most bitter conditions. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish prevents saturation and increases durability, and high-loft 150-g 100% polyester insulation throughout the parka (including the hood) traps heat and blocks wind to keep you warm, comfortable and motivated to stay out when others are heading inside. Other weather-sealing features include adjustable cuffs with rib-knit interior storm gaskets, an adjustable waist drawcord, and a midthigh length for maximum coverage and protection. The lowdown on pockets: two handwarmers, two front drop-ins with flaps and snap closures, one secret zippered chest pocket, and an interior security pocket with a zipper closure—all lined with soft polyester tricot. The gusseted underarms allow the full range of shoulder and arm motion to keep you mobile and nimble in crowds.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable.

Designed for a wide range of uses, from backpacking to snowboarding, 2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics utilize a taffeta or mesh lining rather than a bonded scrim to protect the waterproof/breathable barrier. The lining increases the garments wicking ability, durability and next-to-skin comfort.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our Killer Wash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Outerwear I purchased and received it just prior to a 12-inch blizzard with 35+ mph winds. It keep me warm and dry as I cleared my driveway. I could see the water beading up on the coat. The quality and features of it are all that you could ask for. A great addition to my wardrobe that will last many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm jacket I am 183cm and 80kg, athletic build. Medium fits perfectly leaving enough space for a mid layer. I wear Large T-shirts and my other jacket is a size large North Face for reference. Arms can be long for some people. It is warm enough for the Toronto winters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and dry I regret not getting the jacket with the front zipper up by where bread pocket area. That's so useful. Coat is really breaking in nice and not so stiff but something about the neck area really is agrivating to my facial hair. The fit could be a little more tailored and less boxy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from keeps me warm through Iowa winter I bought this jacket last fall and it's been keeping me warm through the coldest of Iowa winters so far. Even at -20 degrees F this jacket makes it bearable. I'm 6' tall and 150 pounds and the medium fits me well with enough room for layering underneath. It's nice enough to wear around town and for school, but also feels like it could withstand more rigorous outdoor activities.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Patagonia for Winter! This is my second winter parka in the past 8 years from your company. At first I thought it was somewhat oversized but having worn it with a second layer underneath in temp down to 20F with complete comfort in walks over 5 miles it is excellent. Pockets are well designed and ample for all purposes. Well done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Parka, got it in Red. I bought this right before the winter season for NY, ND, and OR. Absolutely love it. Warm, Comfortable, and well made. Excited to own it. I bought it a size smaller than I normally buy clothing, I got a medium. Fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! I've had this for a month now and have pretty much worn it everyday. It is very warm (sometimes to warm when in stores) but also comfortable. All of the pocket options make it very versatile. The Napoleon pocket is so very useful to not have to unzip your coat to get your phone or shopping list. I've also had one morning where I spilled my coffee on the arm, but it just beaded right off the shell material. I feel like it is a tank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Michigan weather! I had bought this for my hubby a month ago since we've moved from California to Michigan. We were looking for a light jacket that could be casual for everyday purposes and good for business casual work place. The winter in Michigan can get down to - single digits and keeps the hubs warm. One complaint is that the neck, face area is stiff and uncomfortable in the beginning as the material stands on it on, over time it relaxes and doesn't scratch the face as much but this is a minor complaint. The arms are a little long, but great for winter to keep your hands covered with gloves on. Some people didn't like this. I wish they made a similar version for women!! The hubs is 190 lbs, 6" tall and I got him a Medium. Fits well with a sweater under or suit under. He normally wears large.
