Splitting kindling or banging new cedar shakes onto the weather wall, the task list never ends when you’re living off the grid. Warm, soft-wearing and durable enough for workdays at the cabin, our Straight Fit Cords are made from a midweight 14-wale 100% organic cotton corduroy. With classic 5-pocket styling and a regular rise, they have a zip fly, an antique nickel shank button closure, double-needle belt loops and antique nickel piton rivets throughout. Designed for lean-to-medium body types, the tuned-in fit is neither too loose nor too tight through the seat and thigh and has a straight-leg opening from knee to ankle. They have two front pockets with printed twill pocket bags, a small coin pocket on the right hip and two rear pockets. Fair Trade Certified™ for sewing, which means the people who made them earned a premium for their labor. Inseam is 34".

Fair Trade Certified™

We pay a premium for every Fair Trade Certified item that carries our label. That extra money goes directly to the workers at the factory, and they decide how to spend it. The program also promotes worker health and safety and social and environmental compliance, and encourages dialog between workers and management. Fair Trade is one of the first tools we’re using at Patagonia to raise workers’ wages, improve their standard of living and move them closer to earning a living wage.

Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cords Baby!!! These corduroy pants are super comfy. They really have a great fit. This is the second pair that I own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and durable. I buy Patagonia to wear it and use it for both work as a carpenter and hiking/climbing rugged granite in Colorado. They're just what I was looking for

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits great, very comfortable We will see about the longevity of the pants, but the fit is great (I am a skinny dude) and the cloth has a nice soft feel. Good solid stitching, all the details look as per Patagonia standard like they have been thought out and maximized.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Journey to Perfection Kudos to the Patagonia design team on continually refining the cut of their pants until they got to what is essentially a perfect pair of pants. Not too baggy, not too tight, but just perfect. Stylin' for both urban and outdoors. They even dropped the annoying Patagonia tag on the butt, so you can wear them with a Patagonia shirt and not feel like a walking advertisement. Great job team.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit! I bought these for my older son. It is hard to find pants in a 28x34 - I am glad we found these! They fit great and have become his favorite pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice style and fit Got a pair of these in regular fit and straight fit at same time. These I would say are not slim fit, more tapered slightly in lower leg,but pleasant.Reminds me of my favorite Patagonia pants of all time from the 80's, the tapered five pocket jeans.Plenty of room up top. Quality is terrific. feels like they"ll wear a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough, hip, and durable urban wear These are a great pair of pants, absolutely suited to city comfort -- well-designed & well executed with extra sewing at all the stress points, and stylish, too! I own these straight fit cords and also the regular fit. Both are favorites of mine, chosen for wear depending on mood and activity. These are the pants I like to wear when I'm into a Clint Eastwood, high plains drifter, kind of mood requiring a slim fit. I'm 6'3" tall, waist size 32.5" and a 34" inseam. I've got these in a 33 waist and 34 length and I'd say that going up a half inch for the waist is critical in their working for me. Thing is that I have fairly muscular thighs and calves from lots of biking & running & walking my 4 mile round-trip to and from work every day -- not body builder huge, but bigger than average. I don't like the skinny jeans feel or look at all and worried that these cords would fit like a pair of tights and need to get donated to the local St. Vinnie's. At first wear, I got even more worried -- awful tight around the calves and thighs, I thought. But I bull-dogged on and counted on the tendency of cords to loosen into comfort. Only took a day's wear for that to happen and for me to be convinced that I have the perfect slim fit pants for the days I want them. They are definitely slim, but not clingy; they have a comfortable give that keeps them from being constraining; and they stretched out just enough so that, when I stand up, they'll fall to length without my needing to bend over to hand pull them to my ankle. Sharp looking! And exuding Patagonia quality. Though these would be fine for doing chores around the house and for walks in parks & on groomed trails, I'm not convinced I'd want to wear these for extended trekking -- I do like a looser fit for that. And, although I can work the pant leg up over my calf and up to the knee, these would be a real pain to roll up for frequent water crossings or going after a tick (or leeches during Himalayan monsoon season). Still, a really fine addition to what I wear!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pants but ... Would have given 5 stars but for some reason the inseam on these pants was about 1.5" longer than the stated 34" length. I had to get them re-hemmed. All of my other 34" Patagonia pants are spot on. I'm 6'2" and 190 lbs. Other than the length, everything else about these pants is great like always.
