A quick-drying hoody designed for flats fishing, made from lightweight 100% polyester with 25-UPF sun protection.

Read More Close
Good light on the flats means more shots and more fish. It also means you’re roasting in the sun. Fortunately, our Sunshade Technical Hoody—made from ultralight, 3.5-oz polyester fabric with 25-UPF sun protection—offers full upper-body coverage and a cool, airy feel. Thumb holes pull the sleeves down to cover the backs of the hands for additional protection, and a relaxed hood holds the rays off and fits easily over a baseball cap. A single vertical-zip pocket on the chest keeps small essentials secure; the zipper is durable plastic to prevent corrosion in marine environments. When the flats heat up, don’t wilt—just pull up the hood and keep on fishing.
  • Lightweight, quick-drying 100% polyester double knit with 25-UPF sun protection
  • Hood is designed to be worn over a baseball cap
  • Front chest pocket with vertical zip closure; zipper is 100% plastic to prevent corrosion
  • Thumb holes on the cuffs for additional sun protection for the backs of the hands

Men's Sunshade Technical Hoody is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good fit, does its job, a bit thick As an instructor I like to have a shirt that has sun protection. I started out using the tropical sun shirt. I liked the lighter weight and thinner material of that better than this, though the sizing of this hoody is more accurate to Patagonias typical sizing (tropical hoody stretches and starts out much bigger--I'm a small everything Patagonia and the tropical was a dress, hanging below my butt and way past my hands--get a size or two smaller if going for tropical.) As for the technical hoody, it has a hood, comfortable, better color choice, and sizes well. I'll likely buy again if needed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from cover up instead of useing sunscreen! 6ft.175lb.34waist, perfect fit,,used it once or twice and tried to buy another camo print;sold out! nice loose fit, breaths good and cuts wind chill as well, good sun protection if you wear a long billed cap under or on top of hood ,large zipper secured pocket for shades or whatever, thumb holes help to give hands more sun protection, great for home or vacation adventures...really like the green camo print!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best fishing shirt hands down I started fly fishing about a year and a half ago while acclimating in the high Sierra's before climbs. I needed something that was practical for both applications. Fast and light high output climbs in the sunny snowy mountains and easy and breezy with good coverage for lower fishing assults. This hoody turned out to be the perfect shirt. It's fabric is moisture whicking and super breathable and the hood covers my neck and ears and buttons to cover my lower face too. It has enough heft though that if it's a little cooler out you won't be freezing. Absolutely love this hoody. Great product and I could not be happier. I'm 6'3 with a lean athletic build and the large is a great fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential light, airy, breathable, and great sun protection day after day without slathering on sunscreen all the time. I love this shirt for full days in the driftboat and long summer hikes above treeline.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Staple Piece! As far as I'm concerned, this piece should be in everyone's kit. The hood, long sleeves, and thumb holes are all features I look for in a base layer. It offers great sun protection and has a great fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shirt, couple things to improve on. These are great for sun protection on hot days. With that said, I would let folks know the material is super fragile. I have only worn mine a couple times, and it has runs all over it. The hood design and buttons are great. I'd love to see this design blended with the original sun hoody material and kangaroo pocket. Overall, you won't regret this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from light and purposeful I wore this both fly fishing in Montana and climbing the Grand Teton in Wyoming. It's light and provides good sun protection. With the hood up, it covers your ears and the back of your neck. But its not hot. The thumb holes are also great sun protection for the backs of your hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have hoody! I own one, but will need more. This is one of my most favorite pieces of equipment now.
