Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Men's Tenpenny Pants - Short is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and comfort, well made. I am 68, it's difficult for me to find pants / shorts that are not designed exclusively for those much younger. I had a coupon and purchased the Tenpenny Shorts in size 31. Within a week I ordered the pants. The pants and shorts are exceptionaly comfortable and fit almost perfect

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite pants I bought these a couple of months ago (I now have 3 pair) and haven't worn jeans since. The fit is perfect for me, waist is true to size and thighs are roomy. I have zero complaints!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of warm weather hiking pants. These tenpenny pants have to be some of the greatest hiking/climbing pants I have ever come across. They are a workhorse. They are durable and resistant to staining and scuffs. They keep you cool even in the hottest climates. Very well made. The DWR finish comes in handy when caught in an unexpected drizzle but would not reccomend them for a downpour. Will keep you cool and comfy when you need it, and will hold up well for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Practical. These pants are cut distinctively. Don't try to get them to lay flat so as to iron them. Won't exactly work, thanks to sturdy little seams that slightly change the legs' directions. Those little seams do seem to make the pants work better than most when scrambling around in a garden full of obstacles (palms, cycads, bromeliads, branches). The side pocket is definitely good for a pocket saw. The color (brown mustard, "tapenade") isn't my favorite, but can be tamed with a blue shirt. I haven't gotten seriously wet while wearing these, so can't yet comment on the durable water repellant finish. The nylon content of the fabric isn't noticeable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My jeans now get less rotation Finally a patagonia pants that fits well. For some reason, patagonia pants never fit me that well but these pants are great. Durable and dependable I expect to get years of wear out of this cotton nylon pant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice pants, Second pair This is my second pair of tenpenny pant. I'm 5'10", 180 lbs. I get a 34 inch waist in most Patagonia pants but wear a 32 in most jeans and other khakis. This pair fits the same as the pair I bought a few years ago. They are a little noisy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More relaxed fit than most Patagonia pants If you're like me and find most Patagonia pants to be tight in the thigh and seat areas, then these are your pants! I have a fit, athletic build and always have a problem with pants of any brand being too tight in those areas. I was looking for some general purpose pants for hiking and climbing but found the other Patagonia models to be too tight. I also need a short inseam which limited my options even more since Patagonia doesn't always offer a short inseam. Anyway, the Tenpenny pants fit me perfectly throughout. They are loose enough to be comfortable and allow the pockets to be functional (i.e. my keys don't look like they're shrink-wrapped to my leg), but are by no means baggy. The pockets are also appropriately sized (i.e. they aren't overly shallow, etc.). I like the design of the thigh pocket which holds my iPhone 6 with a Lifeproof case very well. The Tenpenny Pants are clearly built to take a beating so I have no doubt these pants will be in service for years to come. I imagine I'll pick up some more in the future. My only complaint is that the short 30" inseam is still too long for me (I normally wear 30/30 pants) so I might get them hemmed but I've noticed that across most Patagonia pants.
