Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Men's Text Logo Polycycle® Hoody is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from very comfortable but.. It is a very comfortable, lightweight and warm hoodie, however, it absorbs stains like it is nobody's business. Oils bleed right into it so be careful around the house! Also, as a fisherman, I was hoping it was going to be my layering hoodie, but quickly realized that the sleeve bands really don't stretch at all and when I went to push my sleeve up to release a fish, it got about 5 inches and stopped. The good news is that the fish is free and alive, the bad news is that my sleeve was soaked for the next hour or so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recycled Goodness I love the fact that it is made of recycled materials. At 5’ 9” 165lb the Large is spot on. The material also washes well and is durable. I expect this sweatchirt to outlast cotton sweatchirts - get one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love and a little hate This sweater is amazing, I love how soft it is, and it's surprisingly warm for how lightweight it is.... BUT, I was surprised at how lightweight it is when I got it, I expected it to be much heavier and much much warmer. Another thing I don't like is how the wrist cuffs, as well as the bottom cuff around the waist, are fairly loose, would love for them to be have been a little bit tighter, like most sweatshirts. Although it's not quite what I expected, I am very happy with this sweatshirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Hoody It is a versatile piece that you can layer easily. It is super comfortable, extremely soft (interior and exterior -body/arms/hood), and just warm enough to be more than a one season piece. The fit is terrific all around with stay in place cuffs and hem and a hood -without- that awkward looking and poor fitting single center seam, and so far great for both: walking and trail running. Note on the Mogul Blue: it is a beautiful blue in person - nothing like the rendered picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recycled material is a winner. My Polycycle Hoody arrived just in time for our first winter storm. I have been wearing it as a mid layer, during 4 hour shifts behind a snow blower. I like that it is made from recycled materials. I like that it is keeping me warm in single degree conditions.
