The Torrentshells do exactly what pared-down rainwear should: keep you dry through steady showers or thunderboomers—and they do it with breathability and zero excess. These H2No® Performance Standard rain pants are made from 2.5-layer nylon ripstop (now 100% recycled) with a waterproof/breathable barrier and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. They feature a simple pull-on style with an elastic drawcord waistband, articulated knees and water-resistant side zips that extend from cuff to thigh for easy pull-on over boots, while doubling as vents. With two zippered pockets (the pants stuff into the left pocket, with carabiner clip-in loop) and partially elasticized cuffs that adjust with a snap-tab closure.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

2.5-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof, breathable and highly packable for backpacking, alpine climbing and backcountry skiing. They combine a water-repellent shell fabric with a waterproof/breathable membrane and a protective top coat barrier without needing a protective lining fabric. A raised print layer is applied to decreased layering friction and increase moisture management.

2.5-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our 24 Killer Wash.

Men's Torrentshell Pants is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from torrentshell pants I wore these pants for the first time in a thunderstorm on Gannett Peak in the Wind River Range. I found areas of the pants where the rain absorb into the pants and then other areas where the rain drops beads up and rolls off like it should. thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept me dry and cool Wore them all 6 days of a fly-in fishing trip on Northern Ontario, Canada. They kept me dry and cool. We're perfect in the downpours and the wind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Reality I have used Patagonia since the 70s. I love Patagonia. These rain pants shed their inner lining in just a year. I expect more from you. Yes, you gave me a credit and i have a new pair. Thank you for that. I am still a Patagoniac. For life.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice rainwear Runs small good. Water repellancy would recommend a larger size if you are going to wear the pants over something

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I ride my bike to work roughly 10 miles daily and I purchased these pants as a "just in case" item to go with my torrentshell jacket. These pants have saved me during walks around town, hiking in the woods, and of course on bike. I wish they we're cheaper, but with Patagonia you're paying for quality and that's what you get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dry Legs Forever These rain pants are excellent for backpacking, hiking, and walking your dog in torrential downpours. These pants have performed well during the winter/spring rainfall in northern California. The cut is fitted around the waist, but roomy enough in the legs to slip right over hiking pants, shorts or jeans, whatever the occasion. The zippered sides give you options for ventilation or to show off your socks. Durability is still out for review. Seems like the construction and materials will hold up well over time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lowrise Rain Pants? Waistline sits too low causing crack exposure when sitting or stooping over. Drawstring too short and thin and has no cordstop so it's difficult to tie and untie especially with other gear on. Could be great product with high back waistline, thicker drawstring including substantial cordstop. Great lightweight gortex fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, High Visibility for Safety Initial impressions are fine, haven't put them through the wringer yet. The bright yellow color is an important feature for high visibility and safety while working out on the country roads. The elastic in the waist is not as impressive or functional as the elastic waist in the LL Bean Stowaway Gore-Tex Rain Pants.
