Our Tribune Pants have 4-way stretch for exceptional mobility and comfort when you’re bouldering, backpacking, trekking—or making it up as you go along. They’re made from a light and limber yet rugged blend of 88% nylon and 12% spandex with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to shed moisture if you’re caught out in the open. Articulated knees and a gusseted crotch allow unlimited mobility; a curved waistband provides a contoured fit and reduces any downward migration. Five pockets keep you organized, and a slightly slimmed down, tapered silhouette ensures your feet stay clear of excess fabric. Available in two inseams: regular, 32"; long, 34". Fabric is certified as bluesign® approved.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Tribune Pants is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-made, light, clean lines. Tribune pants are true to size extremely well crafted and indeed slim fitting. Very light cool in spite of being tight. Have worn them a dozen times over the last month and love. Wish there were more colors available. I use them for work and casual attire. These pants are a nice mash up of skinny jeans, casual khaki and climbing pants .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best pants I've ever worn, but I bought these pants because I needed something that wasn't cotton for long multi-days hikes, and that would still look good when going off the trail into town. It's usually better, in my opinion, to look like a normal person when you're out on long hikes. The scruffy beard and massive pack are usually strange enough. As far as the look of the pants goes, they're nearly perfeect. They're obviously some kind of athletic/cycling/hiking pants to anyone who looks closely, but they fit so nicely that you can wear them in pretty much any sitution where you would wear chinos. The comfort is an 11 out of 10. They are, without a doubt, the most comfortable pants I've ever worn. Utility is where there's a slight problem. The fabric is very durable for its weight. I wouldn't hesitate to do any kind of hiking in them. Because they're synthetic, though, you have to be somewhat careful with thorns. The main problem with them is the stitching on the pant leg hem. I returned the first pair--which was incredibly easy, with free 2-day shipping to me before I even returned my old pair--because the stitching came out on the hem. And it's happening again with this pair. There's an orange thread on the inside and a tan/khaki thread on the outside. The orange thread seems to be weaker and is breaking when--I think this is the case but I'm not sure--it rubs against my boots. This is obviously a problem, but I love the pants so much that it's not so much of a problem as to change my opinion of them. They need double or even triple needle stitching on the hem, and that orange thread should probably be replaced. I contacted Patagonia via live chat and asked if it would void the warranty if I repaired them myself. I was told that it absolutely wouldn't and that they encourage repairs or that I could send them in for them to repair. The pants being as good as they are, along with Patagonia's mind blowing customer service, makes the hem problem a non-issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet pants! Awesome, super stretchy, breathable, and stylish technical pant with a wide range of application. At work for the summer, where I take youth into the backcountry daily, I've gotten comments in the office before leaving for the day's adventure like "are those hiking pants!?" due to how professional and dressy the khakis look. A few hours later I was fording a glacial fed stream. Remarkably, the pant's DWR finish shed ALL water. At least for several washings, the water just beads up and rolls off. I can only attest to quick drying from the inside (sweat), as they've repelled water from the outside so far; sweat is breathed out quickly and it would be hard to get a clammy feel on the inside except on hot, high exertion days. Love these pants and have two pairs. I where them all the time spring-fall in AK. If they were modified for ski boots, I'd be wearing them all year!
