Men's Tropic Comfort Hoody Ii is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great flats shirt Bought this shirt for sun protection during a recent fly fishing trip to the Yucatán. Absolutely loved it. Great sun protection while still feeling very light and airy. Hood was much easier to deal with and more comfortable than wearing a buff. I liked the convenient thumb holes as well, but usually chose to wear gloves for better protection. Only negative was the button closure at the base of the hood. Would often come unbuttoned on its own, especially when making a run in the boat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential piece for people who play outside I love this piece. Its one of those things that you don't realize is essential until you have one. Now that I've got one I can't go back. Anyone who goes outside could find a good use for this piece. Alpine climbing in warm weather? This piece keeps you safe from high-alpine sun. I am not kidding you, every climbing guide in the Tetons wears one of these. Are you planning to be on a big river, mid summer for hours on end? Pull up the hood on your Sunshade and find refuge from the heat and glare. A flyfisher or river enthusiast absolutely needs on of these hoodies. The fabric is light and very airy, a subtle breeze actually feels pretty cold while wearing this piece. For spring skiing or alpine climbing, I like to layer a lightweight synthetic t-shirt underneath for a bit of core warmth. The fit is baggy and relaxed, which is great for comfort but not always ideal for layering underneath something, but its not too big of a problem, I would not recommend sizing down. Get yourself one before they sell out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep sea survivor. The SPF protection is a huge plus in this light weight shirt. The hood protected my ears and neck well, and was plenty warm on the ride out when teamed with a cotton t-shirt. After a full day of run and Mahi Mahi fishing I thought the shirt was done for from all the mess that comes with catching and cleaning fish. However, a little bit of detergent straight onto the shirt and then into the wash and it came out looking new. Well done Patagonia team. I'm 6’2” 225 and got the XL, but L would fit better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent piece of gear Bought this piece for an August trip to Greece, green for me and red for my son. Nice colors. Perfect rash guard in a sunny, hot climate and great for travel. Very lightweight on a sunny 95 degree day on the water, but cozy enough to serve as an over shirt on a chilly overnight plane flight. It holds up well with daily use and dries quickly after a swim or a wash. Highly recommended piece because of its quality and versatility. Loose fit and sleeves are appropriately long for the thumbholes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for River Trips! I'm stoked on the tropic hoody. I bought it for a 6 day rafting expedition thru the Grand Canyon and ended up wearing it every day of the trip. Worked great to keep the hot sun off and was cool even in 105 degree temps. Hood size fits well over a hat and keeps your face and neck protected from the scorching sun. Dries quickly when wet and didn't smell after 6 days on the river (though I washed a few times along the way). All the guides on the river wear them. I'm 6' 160lbs and the medium fit perfect. Light grey color nice for keeping cool in sun and dirt/sand/mud washes out reasonably well even after hard use. If you are going on any kind of desert / canyon trip or any kind of river / float trip I highly recommend this hoody. Wish I had bought 2x.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy and fresh I used this one after a Denali trip... is a good piece for super hot days. In the rivers or climbs with sunny exposure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for in the sun rafting or kayaking True essential lightweight and protective. If you use it everyday stitching and fabric starts to fall apart a little.
