bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Men's Tropic Comfort 1/4-Zip is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The sizing is correct…Just RELAX I have this item in the hoody and zip neck. Multiple reviews say it runs big, this is not the case. This shirt is a Relaxed fit. Patagonia only makes a handful of Relaxed fit items, the majority of the clothing line is Regular or Slim fit. If you want a regular fit out of this item you would size down, the same as if you wanted a Slim fit out of a Regular sized shirt. But I would buy your regular size, the relaxed fit is excellent. It stays cool, comfortable and dry, and you can wear a regular t-shirt under it on cooler days. Also, the fit has other benefits, any clothing tight under the arms (even cotton) is difficult to keep dry and odor free. I think this is the main cause of odor in technical clothing. The fit eliminates this. Also, the hand coverage is great and the fabric is light and comfortable. This item will work for slim, regular, and heavier frames. Also, it is a rare technical peace that can be worn casually. This is the a perfect item for Patagonias values. A wider range of body types can wear it over a range of activities, reducing environmental impact. More Relaxed and Regular fit, Please!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from High quality but sizing is two sizes too big. I am 6'2" and weigh between 186 and 190. I bought a large and it would fit a XXL. Order two sizes smaller. I have noticed lately Patagonia shirts such as this shirt all run two sizes too large.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Fish Shirt w/ a Couple of Concerns I live in knit casting shirts almost year round because of the comfort. They are ideal for fishing in hot sunny weather. I have several from Patagonia. I was very happy Patagonia added the 1/4 zip as I think it makes the shirt even more functional. My two concerns are this. I'm a solid size XL in Patagonia clothing. This shirt is very oversized. When I first put it on I looked at the size tag to be sure I didn't have a XXL. My hunch is this is part of the overall design, but this blouse sizing was almost too big. Second, the item is not as pictured on the web. All the flat lock seams in the garment use a contrast color thread color. The picture on the web shows the use of matching thread colors for all seams. The Cuban Blue shirt I ordered uses light gray thread. This changes the overall look of the garment. The shirt still looks good, but from Patagonia, who is a big-time web merchant, I expect better execution.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from All this needs is a hood ... All this needs is a hood and it would be perfect. So Patagonia product designers, if you're reading this: please please put a hood on the Tropic Comfort 1/4-Zip and I will love you forever ...
