The Windsweep 3-in-1 ranks up there with duct tape on our list of versatile do-alls. Adaptable to the full range of weather conditions, it provides exceptional performance in three ways. You can wear just the shell for rain protection; just the liner as a lightweight, insulated midlayer; or wear all three together for a warm, insulated, waterproof/breathable jacket that cuts through snow and cold. We make this H2No® Performance Standard jacket from a 2-layer blend of 80% nylon/20% polyester. It has a waterproof/breathable barrier and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to manage moisture, both inside and out. A wicking mesh liner adds comfort, versatility and a smooth glide when used in tandem with additional layers. The helmet-compatible, 2-way-adjustable hood has a drop-collar design for exceptional coverage without impeding visibility. Interior storm flaps cover the front zipper and create a zipper garage at the chin, which is lined with microfleece for skin-friendly comfort. Lightweight and compressible, the zip-out liner is insulated with 150-g Thermogreen® polyester for warmth. It has a windproof, 100% recycled polyester taffeta shell with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and diamond quilting to increase heat-trapping efficiency. The shell has handwarmer pockets and one chest pocket that close with watertight Slim Zips to reduce bulk and weight. The liner also has handwarmer pockets, which are lined with soft microfleece for comfort and an interior security pocket for valuables. The zip-out jacket attaches easily to the shell with center-front zippers and snap-loops at the cuffs and back of neck. Hip length.
  • H2No® Performance Standard 2-layer shell made of 80% nylon/20% polyester plain weave with a waterproof/breathable barrier, a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and a wicking mesh liner for ultimate comfort and versatility. • Shell: 2-way-adjustable hood with drop-collar design provides exceptional coverage and visibility; hood is helmet-compatible; center-front zipper features minimal-welt exterior and interior storm flaps that create a zipper-garage chin guard; microfleece on interior collar for next-to-chin comfort; left-chest and handwarmer pockets feature coated, watertight Slim Zips that reduce bulk and weight; dual-adjust drawcord hem seals out weather; hip length
  • Zip-out jacket: full-length center-front zipper with a stand-up collar; diamond quilting detail creates an effective heat-trapping surface and reduces bulk while increasing compressibility; side-entry handwarmer pockets with zipper closures are lined with microfleece for next-to-skin comfort; one zippered, interior left-chest security pocket; hip length

Weatherproof

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable.

Designed for a wide range of uses, from backpacking to snowboarding, 2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics utilize a taffeta or mesh lining rather than a bonded scrim to protect the waterproof/breathable barrier. The lining increases the garments wicking ability, durability and next-to-skin comfort.

2-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our Killer Wash.

Men's Windsweep 3-In-1 Jacket is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent gear for European weather Really comfy and great care in how it's been made. Looking forward to an easy decade of use. Great that the zipper can zip up from he bottom, as it makes it easier to bike to work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits perfect, looks great, but could be improved I'm 5'9" 160lbs, slim/average. Just like any "3-in-1" jacket, the shell is big to make room for the liner. Liner jacket fits perfect, but the shell by itself feels like a "large" to me. This is to be expected, and as a system, the two together fit like all my other Columbia/NorthFace jackets and the Medium is perfect for me. Pros: I love the diamond-stitched liner so much, I've been wearing it every day and it is beautiful. Synthetic stuffing isn't down but it's fluffy and warm. Shell feels super durable and all zippers/seams are nicely taped/waterproofed. Everything functions well and feels natural to me, I really like this jacket. Cons: My liner jacket (the polyester material) seems to stain easy. The maroon color is turning very dark around the neck collar (sweat and skin oil?) and also on the forearms (from rubbing them on tables/bars/etc?). I noticed this after wearing it only a few times. I have not washed it yet but imagine this will work... The liner has one internal pocket, but it's a tad small. Fits my wallet but it holds it at an angle almost so I wish it was squared better. The shell jacket has no internal pocket at all but it should. Shell also has no vent zips under the armpits which most of my competing jackets have.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost there I bought this as a casual jacket to handle mild winters, wind, and rain. While the overall design was solid and the color was on point, the details just didn't stand up. The drawcord on the hem felt weak, the zip out jacket's sleeves were too long, the hood was too small to be helmet compatible, and the velcro cuffs didn't provide the cleanest lines when tightened. I thought the jacket would've been warmer, but I guess you give up some insulating air space when moving to a 3-in-1. Design issues aside, the color and finish of the jacket were great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid All Purpose Jacket Bought this Jacket for a trip to New Zealand and to double as an everyday jacket for Ohio winter's. It is very versatile jacket and warm. Positives - the syntethic interior jacket is lightweight, warm and comfy. The outer shell is totally waterproof and windproof and help up great in an absolute downpour while in Auckland. I was totally dry after 45 minutes in a heavy rain. Togther, they both work well for a typically cold winter day in Ohio. Negatives - it runs large. I had to switch to a medium and I'm 6 feet tall, 175 lbs. The medium fits perfect. The outer shell is rigid. The neck area does interfere with your face if left zipped to the middle chest. The hood doesn't quite move with a side to side head motion, though that could be fixed with fitting it better using the drawstring (I didn't do that). The sleves Velcro and I wish the we're elastic (even the interior jacket doesn't have this option). Overall pretty miserable or quibbles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product I bought this jacket last week, and am so happy with it! My favorite part is the warmth! I also like the look of the black jacket! On a cold day, I realized I forgot my gloves. But then, I noticed the warm and fuzzy pockets in front that kept my hands warm. Only draw back, but maybe because it's so new, is the rigidity of the outer jacket. The hood is solid and fits my head perfectly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted it to work Patagonia makes a great product, however, the fit is not for everyone. I am 5-9, early 50's, of average weight and build, or so I think. It seems that Patagonia is sizing products for men with narrow shoulders, long arms with no thighs and no butt. Jackets and pants seem to be sized for small stature men - that's to bad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not quite there Jacket and liner are good weights for sierra/tahoe skiing and outdoor play. Good weatherproofing, nice big pockets. But this jacket suffers from a couple weaknesses 1) the hood is not big enough to cover a ski helmet. granted I wear an XL size (smith variance). Putting hood over the helmet pulls the jacket up and restricts head motion left / right. 2) this jacket really needs zippered vents on the sleeves. i know probably difficult with a 3 in 1 but i had this on an old Columbia parka. 3) zipper string on the main zipper is too short, hard to grab with gloves on and without actually looking. 4) the hood tightener is really hard to use while the jacket is on
