Numb feet mean blown waves, and blowing waves in cold water is no fun at all. Made from durable 3mm neoprene, the R3® Split Toe Booties keep your feet warm and comfortable while offering excellent dexterity and feel. With a fast-drying, low-pile 88% recycled polyester/12% spandex microgrid thermal lining, they have a split toe and heel lock to improve performance; asymmetrical rubber reinforcements wrap around the foot for a secure fit and provide extra protection on the walk out. Fine-grip rubber soles provide increased traction, and the Z-Strap closure locks the foot in place for extra support. A PU-laminated cuff tab and a pull ring at the heel make them easy to get on and off. Seams are internally taped to prevent leakage.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and functional Great booties. They keep me warm and provide some cushion for walking over rocks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Booties Just Need A Zipper I like these booties but they are hard to get off and on and the velcro always comes undone. I really wish they were side zip. These also run a size small so I recommend getting a size larger than you normally would. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5 and a size 11 fits me fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Keep my feet warm but sized way too small... I have used these boots for surfing, paddling, and other water sports. I wear a 9 size shoe and I bought 10s. They are still too small and my toes get cramped up especially after wearing for 4 hours or more, like paddling on a river. They are also a bear to get on and off. The velcro fails often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite bootie Warmth and comfort without sacrificing sensitivity. In my opinion, this is the best surf bootie on the market. Has kept me warm in water temps as low as the upper 40's. Sticky sole, really helps with grip on the board. Couldn't be happier with these booties.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bring back the old with new soles This is the 3rd or 4th pair of these I bought. I use them for windsurfing and loved the old (wool inside) style except the sole under the big toe wore through in about 12 months of use. The last new pair I got a couple of months ago has different style with red poly lining and thicker sole with more connected split toe. On these new style booties the thicker sole and more connected split toe are both an improvement and hope I will allow the sole to wear longer than 12 months last longer (used them for only a couple of weeks so far). I really have to complaint about the velcro strap though. It is very bad. The strap is either too short and does not overlap enough, or the velcro on it is of really poor quality. Every time the foot hits the water the strap opens. I was only able to tolerate this for a day and ended up cutting the straps off completely it was so annoying. Please please fix this! New style also seems to be a sized smaller by about a full size than the previous version. No big deal if there is some advice to size up by full size. On the balance (even with the cut off straps) these are great, but fixing these things would definitely help.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Grrrrr the velcro strap! I have owned these for the past two months and surf nearly everyday somewhere in San Diego and Orange county. The good! Warm and comfortable even on the top of the foot, no hot spot rubbing points and the traction is good. Great flexibility and they dry rather quickly. Now the bad, and for me, this is the deal breaker of ever buying these again or making a recommendation to a friend. The velcro strap is ALWAYS coming undone! It is crazy how often I am having to readjust these in the water. I tried surfing without them strapped and I kept stepping on the strap when cross stepping to the nose. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! The booties are too nice to continue with this inadequate closure system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great booties, but size up! Love these booties. Warm, and I barely notice them in and out of the water. I read previous reviews and sized up for a perfect fit. Street shoe is 11, ordered a 12. Perfect amount of wiggle room upfront for the big toe too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Booties I'm 5'11", 165 slim build. I purchased these booties for canyoneering and Colorado River work/boating. I've spent my earlier career as an ocean lifeguard and have lived in many booties. I'm a 9.5 shoe and purchased these in a 10. They are a snug fit and give that climbing shoe feel. I've worn these all day on long canyoneering routes. I over estimated the support of these for multi-mile rocky canyoneering routes and have beat my feet up a bit, but they are surprisingly durable given they're designed for surfing. No sign of gear failure after one year of solid abuse -the soles are getting normally thin. I've swam a bit in these in the Colorado flipping my boat... definitely the best swimming booty I've ever worn. Super warm in 45deg water. Taking them off is a challenge, but I see that as a plus given they fit like a glove. If I move back to the coast, these would be great for surfing. Snug Fit 9/10, style 10/10, durability 10/10, quality 10/10, high speed sports 10/10.
