In some places, it doesn't count as winter until it's 20 below and you're paddling out through rafts of ice. Made of high-quality, ultrawarm 7mm neoprene, our new R5® Mitts are designed for comfort and performance in Arctic surf conditions. With a fast-drying 51% recycled polyester/44% polyester/5% spandex inverted microgrid thermal lining, the design keeps the fingers together for increased warmth and conforms to the hand for a snug fit. A 3-D silicone palm print maximizes grip; 100% external seam sealing eliminates leaks. All seams are triple glued, blindstitched and internally taped at high-stress areas for durability and strength. Exterior face fabric is stretchy and durable 85% recycled polyester/15% spandex.

R5 Mitts is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm but has some dimension issues If you're looking for an extremely warm mitten suitable for water freezing water temperatures, this is it. This thick 7mm neoprene neoprene is very well built. Despite the build quality there are some fundamental issue with its design. I found the finger length of the mitt is not long enough when compared to the the amount of horizontal room inside the glove. The length of the thumb was also much to short. This caused an issue where I had to unnecessarily size up. I thought it would be fine, but time and again I found the mitt filling up with way too much excess water. As you can guess adding all this extra water leads to tiresome arms when paddling. Not so much fun. Bottom line, if you have short stubby fingers these would be perfect. If you have averaged sized hands like I do, you will probably still like them (but with bigger arms).
