Hardcore salmon, steelhead and trout anglers around the world tend to share two common traits: obsession bordering on lunacy and SST Jackets. The latest version of this iconic fishing jacket features our latest advances in shell design and technology, along with a host of angler-friendly details. Made from H2No® Performance Standard 3-layer nylon double ripstop with a waterproof/breathable barrier and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, the SST is durable and extremely light. There’s also an integrated hood with single-pull adjustment and new waterproof, corrosion-resistant YKK® Vislon® Aquaguard® zippers on the front, handwarmer pockets and back pocket. The now-classic large, gusseted chest pockets (with forceps stash inside left pocket) are waterproof, set high for deep wading and have inside tippet pockets. A double belt loop on the back allows you to cinch your wading belt over the jacket and waders, creating a nearly waterproof seal for greater safety in the event of a spill. Streamlined reverse StretchCoat cuffs lie flat, resist line snagging and seal out water. More details: Y-Joint sleeves with anatomically curved elbows, three Beastie D-rings (two on front, one on back), large back pocket and hidden rod holder. The SST is our shortest-length fishing jacket.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Weatherproof

3-layer H2No® Performance Standard fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable by virtue of an advanced combination of elements: a water-repellent shell fabric and a waterproof/breathable membrane bonded with an ultralight knit backer. The entire fabric package is highly packable and designed for prolonged use in extreme weather.

3-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our 24 Killer Wash.

Men's Sst Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 10354.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect wading jacket This is really a review of the SST jacket I have had for 8 or so years now.The jacket is the perfect simplified deep wading tool. After 8 years of use it is still as good as the day I got it after years of use winter steelheading, storms and rough days out on the water.Having the jacket a few inches shorter for deep wading is a plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Fit! For years, I've been in search of a high quality fishing jacket that would fit a small woman. I'm 5'3 and a size 4 to 6. This jacket fits me perfectly. Highly recommend it to all the gals out there. Haven't had it in the field yet, but soon. I'm sure Patagonia will once again live up to their quality reputation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Be careful I have owned 2 Patagonia H2NO material type flyfishing jackets and both delaminated (i.e. melted) after coming in contact with sunscreen or deet containing sprays. This may have changed recently but has been the bane of Patagonia for years. My jackets made from Gore materials appear impervious to any of these. I just think if you really use one of these for angling instead of just profiling at the mall its going to be hard to stay away from deet or sunscreen. In Patagonia's defense they did fully honor the warranty on both jackets. Otherwise these are roomy well designed jackets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dry at last I have been wanting an SST jacket for many years since getting soaked while rowing 2 friends (dry in SST's)downriver on a cold, wet, windy Pacific NW day. I have used the jacket 3 times now and it meets all expectations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The SST stands up to Alaska As an alaskan guide I absolutely depend on my rain gear. I've used more than one version of the SST over the years. It all started prior to my own guiding when I was told by the guide who was breaking me in at the time that they were "bombproof". That was good enough for me. I miss at least one of the earlier design features which was the nice wide neoprene cuffs that absolutely kept me dry rowing a raft in torrential Alaskan rains, however, the current design stood up well during last years season so I was willing to give it another full season of wear before passing judgement. The hand warmer cuffs are essential and on this jacket they are generous. I love the length because a longer coat gets in the way if you're wearing wadders all day anyway. Lastly, the jacket keeps me warm and dry especially layered with Capilene and Patagonia's R4 fleece, my other Alaskan essentials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought the new version of the SST to replace one I have used for the past 10 years or so and finally gave up the ghost. The newer version is made with a lighter material which is an improvement. I wore it salmon fishing this October. It did everything I wanted it to do. The hood construction is superior to the old model and doesn't slide down your face. This is a minimalist jacket with just the right placement and number of pockets. Plus, it is very cool looking. Although a bit pricy, don't hesitate to buy this guy, particularly for cold weather fishing. It is worth every penny.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SST jacket I've got my SST jacket for 7 years and I wear it maybe 15 times a year but unfortunately it is not waterproof anymore, especially in the neck and my arms the coating seems not waterproof anymore. Is this normal after 7 years not very intensive use???

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Great jacket. Only issue is that i don't understand the placement of the velcro on the cuffs. No way you can actually use it in the "tight" mode. Way to tight
