Who says hardcore fishing pants have to look like hardcore fishing pants? Not us. In fact, our Women’s Away From Home Pants feature a stylish, feminine fit that looks and feels great stalking the flats or biking into town for café con leche. For form and function, these pants are made from two fabrics: a stretch-woven nylon/spandex blend on the seat for a comfortable, flattering fit; and a light, quick-drying nylon canvas everywhere else for quick-dry durability. They have the technical features you need for serious fishing—50+ UPF sun protection, a nylon utility keeper, two front and back pockets, a double side pocket on the left leg, articulated knees and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish—but thanks to classic jean-front styling, they work equally well on the trail, around town or anywhere else that takes you away from home.
  • Durable, quick-drying nylon taslan with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and 50+ UPF sun protection; water-resistant stretch-woven seat is supercomfortable
  • Jean-front styling with nylon utility keeper; two front and back pockets
  • Double side utility pocket
  • Articulated knees
  • Body: 3.4-oz 100% nylon taslan. Seat: 96% nylon/4% spandex. Both with C6 DWR (durable water repellent) finish and 50+ UPF sun protection. Fabric is bluesign® approved

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit, functionality Bought these pants to guide in last spring, and have loved the fabric and cut. They have been worn on fishing trips in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Georgia and Brazil!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not too big (not too small.) No good pockets. These pants were not mis-sized for me. Clearly not every body type will need to order a size (or two) up as suggested by some reviewers. I ordered a 6 even though I am a 4 and they are too big everywhere. That mistake was my fault for not going with my gut (and the June 3, 2015 reviewer's comments) and ordering my regular size. The other problem I had with these is Patagonia's - the lack of usable pockets. I wear a vest when I am fly fishing (as well as a lanyard), but I would still like to see zippered back pockets and a big velcro-closure thigh pocket for a fly box. I otherwise like the material and the styling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I read all the previous reviews so I ordered a size larger then I usually wear and they too BIG! I love the potential though so I am returning the larger size and ordering my usual size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Pants, Weird Fit I like these pants, they're very functional and lightweight. However, buy two sizes larger than you usually wear. I'm a size 8 usually, I had to buy a size 12 in these pants. They are really tight in the butt and upper thigh area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Great I hate pants. I try to wear shorts or tights as much as possible, but when I "have" to wear pants, these are my first choice! They are so comfortable with the stretchy seat and very versatile; from fishing, to climbing, to "work", I wear them all the time. They fit is a little funny though. I normally am a 2 in most brands, so I went up a size like the other reviews said. I'm glad I did, because the thigh is pretty small (I'm 5'3, 115) but the legs are way too long and the waist too big. I'm happy to wear a belt and hem them for how comfy they are though!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stupid pockets I'm not liking the Pata trend of making their women's clothes for style as opposed to function. As the camera that remains on some flat somewhere on Turneffe can attest, why bother to sew in a pocket that is so shallow that a coin falls out if sit down. And not one pocket that zips?! These are made for "travel" yet the style only benefits pick pockets. Add some pockets into which a real angler can store some needed gear - fly boxes, hem's, camera, etc. I will say the fabric was nice for wading the flats, and it's an okay looking fit. But I expect more from clothing that is made for USING, not just looking like a catalog model when one walks into the lodge at night. Same with the women's fishing shirts - not a useful pocket among them, and the cut is so small one is guaranteed a sunburned back and forearms, if worn for actual fishing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great lightweight and sturdy pants I got these to use as lightweight hiking pants and they've been great so far on short hikes (up to 7 miles). The cuffs roll up and button flat to make a good capri length pant. I was concerned there would be extra material sticking out and brushing against my leg with each step but they stay flat and I didn't feel a thing. The waist sits just right - not too high or low, and the length of the pants is perfect. The size 10 fit is perfect for me. I'm just under 5'10" and about 145lbs with a long torso. (In "fashion" brand pants that do vanity sizing I wear a size 6-8.) Some of Patagonia's other size 10 pants are really tight on me....it's a mystery sometimes with their sizing, but I love these pants.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to love these. I am an avid fisherwoman. I have been waiting for companies to make a good fishing pant for women. I wanted to love these pants, they are really cute, but they fit really weird. These pants run really really small. I have always been a size 4-6 my whole life. I ordered the size 6 and I could barely button them. I ordered the size 8 and size 10. The size 8 was still to tight, and the 10 was to big. The hips and thighs are way to tight. I have very small hips and these made me look like a busted can of biscuits. The design is nice if they fit. Where companies go wrong with women's fishing gear is that you can't move in it. When I am fishing I don't want a pair of pants that is super tight in the thighs and hips. I want a pair of quick dry pants that is flattering, but I can still move in. I love fashionable clothing, but It also needs to be functional for the sport.
