bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Fair Trade Certified™

We pay a premium for every Fair Trade Certified item that carries our label. That extra money goes directly to the workers at the factory, and they decide how to spend it. The program also promotes worker health and safety and social and environmental compliance, and encourages dialog between workers and management. Fair Trade is one of the first tools we’re using at Patagonia to raise workers’ wages, improve their standard of living and move them closer to earning a living wage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabric incredible Works like silk keeps you cool or warm works with your body temperature! Love the spring colors yeah nice and bright!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scratchy fabric and seams, large fit I love the (old) Patagonia silk weight capilene shirts and have worn them for years, usually in an xs or small. Seeing as this is a slim fit I tried the small, but found the fit to be more like a medium. The fabric and the seams are quite rough and scratchy. In my opinion this shirt is not of the usual Patagonia quality. I'm quite surprised at the more positive reviews. A customer service person suggested I try the Daily T-shirt as according to her, that has the same fabric as the old silk weight capilene shirts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best Shirt is more suitable for early fall and early spring when it is chilly but not really cold. You could wear it in fall or spring for camping in South but too hot for daily wear in summer. Material is awful. Scratchy against skin and it snags easily. All of the shirts in this material are scratchy and snag. I don't want any more of these shirts. Male them in quality fabric and they will be a winner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sun Protection I bought this as a beach/sun cover up for a trip to NZ. I bought 1 size larger than I normally would and the fit was generous without being comically large. The fabric is lightweight and breathable, so I didn't get too hot on hikes and when we were active (70-75def F) and needed a sweatshirt when it was chillier and windy. It did indeed prevent a few sunburns, so my plan worked. Thanks Patagonia!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not too hot, not too cold. This shirt turned out to be the perfect layer for days when the morning was cool and the midday temperatures peaked at 55- 65 degrees. I used this as the first layer under the light weight merino 1/4 zip while hiking through Spain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for river rafting I bought this top to wear on a two week river rafting trip through the Grand Canyon in September. I ended up wearing it on all the warmer days over a Patagonia camisole top (which they don't make anymore - too bad).Great sun protection, cooling, but also added some warmth when soaked with the 50 degree water, and dried quickly. Slightly loose fit which worked well for my needs. 5'7"/140 pounds/medium. Another trip participant had the same shirt and felt the same way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable I got this because I wanted something airy for hiking in mild-cool weather and so far it's been great. The material is very thin (almost see-through) and soft. In ~55(F) degree weather with a tank underneath and a raincoat, i was comfortable. In ~70(F) degree weather, with a tank under, i was comfortable. What I love the most is that it feels soft and airy. My sister said the seams were too rough on her skin and she wore it inside out and loved it. I didn't even notice the seams but maybe that's something people with sensitive skin should think about. I usually wear an XL and the XL was flowy but not baggy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best fit for boxy shaped or petite I have the short sleeves and XS fits great (5'8" 32C size 4/6). The long sleeves in XS has the most ridiculously short sleeves (tag says it's Asian sizing, but this was not in the description before I ordered). The S is loose in the body but sleeves are right.
