Learn More Close
A favorite among our alpine and snow ambassadors, the Capilene® Thermal Weight One-Piece Suit eliminates the extra seams and potential cold spots of a traditional top and bottom layering system. The micro-grid fleece interior of our Capilene® Thermal Weight provides the greatest warmth combined with the greatest breathability of any baselayer in our lineup. Soft, stretchy and compressible, the Polartec® Power Grid™ fabric has a smooth face that glides beneath layers and a brushed fleece interior to warm your core, wick moisture and feel smooth against your skin. Capilene® Thermal Weight has 30-92% recycled content and is treated with Polygiene® permanent odor control. Features include a high collar and self-fabric hood with anatomical shaping for warmth, a long center-front zipper for venting, a gusseted crotch for mobility, a side-zip drop-bottom, flatlock seams to minimize chafing, and offset shoulder and side seams to lie smoothly beneath pack straps.
  • Polartec® Power Grid™ fabric (with Polygiene® permanent odor control) has a smooth face for easy layering; fabric’s open-grid pattern next to skin provides superior warmth, breathability and moisture-wicking performance; spandex for stretch and ease of movement
  • High collar and self-fabric hood with anatomical shaping for warmth and overlapping ponytail exit below helmet line
  • Long center-front zipper vents body heat and is backed by kissing welts for low-bulk comfort next to skin
  • Offset shoulder seams eliminate chafing under pack straps
  • Full underarm gusset for range of motion and chafe-free comfort
  • Gusseted crotch for comfort and unimpeded mobility
  • Fully closing zip drop bottom
  • 3.8-oz (129-g) Polartec® Power Grid™ fabric. Solids: 92% recycled polyester/8% spandex; heathers: 92% polyester (30% recycled)/8% spandex; both with Polygiene® permanent odor control. Fabric is bluesign® approved

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Women's Cap Tw One-Piece Suit is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dissapointment in sizing. I bought this one-piece suit to keep my body warm while traversing the Utah desert in the dead of winter. Temperatures bounce between negative and positive 20 degrees. I spend my entire days outside, no matter the weather. As a Wilderness Therapy Field Instructor, I am a lover of this company and the wild weather it aids me to combat. I paired this one-piece with some Patagonia thermals, a Patagonia hoodie, and some Patagonia fleece pants. Though I feel as though I understand the sizing chart with this company (I own many items), the sizing on this one-piece was utterly disappointing. Because I need to wear this one-piece for 16 days of each month, I haven't been able to exchange it. I'm afraid I am stuck with an item that is too big. The largeness, I feel, defeats the effectiveness of the product. Looking back I wish I had gone with my instinct and had gotten a size small. Note: I am a 5'5" woman that weighs 135 lbs. The reviews on the site and the sizing chart led me to believe that I would be a size M. This product would most likely be more efficient as a snug fitting piece. My hope is to return/exchange for the correct sizing at the end of the season if the company will allow it and if the product isn't completely destroyed by then. Also: I do really love this product. The zippers are not itchy against my skin and the butt flap is easily undone. It is comfortable and soft and I often times forget I'm wearing it. I love the hood too, it is an easy extra head layer for windy days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect A very warm and comfortable base layer. It is truly designed for outdoor use, although it is great to lounge in. After sweating, the capilene never seems wet. The butt zipper accommodates 'popping a squat' outside, but not using a toilet. I am 5' 5", 130 lb, average build w/ shorter legs and a long torso. The small fits well - not too tight, not too loose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Thermal This is really a wonderful thermal piece and I probably should give it 5 stars. The only draw back is that it's very long in the torso. It runs true to size otherwise. Based upon the fit on me, I would suggest that Patagonia have a regular and tall option with this sizing. This one was on sale and I think for the item, the price was very reasonable. It's also really lightweight for the warmth it provides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not leave home without this LOVE this piece. It is my absolute favorite base layer. Especially love the slim cut for my boyish figure (5'9" 130 lbs). The zipper access is so easy to use. Really appreciate the hood and use it under my Patagonia balaclava on cold days. Super warm. Very comfortable. Hard to believe something so light can keep you so very warm. Thanks to this piece, I am never cold on the mountain no matter what the temperatue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent This is my third one piece and each year the design gets better. The new zipper on the back hatch is rad, easy to operate and doesn't dig in with a fully loaded pack. Hood addition is great as well! I generally wear the small ( 5'4 140ish) but this one I got in a medium, a bit bulkier but works great because now I'm 8 months pregnant and it still fit's like a dream! From meat packing in the alaska range, skiing in all forms to just working outside this is my go to layer. Thanks for keeping me warm and active patagonia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for Sailing I wore this nearly non-stop on a week long sailboat delivery. I love it so much after that trip. So comfortable and easy. I could add layers on top quickly, then strip those off and kept this on to nap while off-watch. Zipper in back means you don't have to worry about bending over. It's super warm and cozy but I also never found it too hot. I think it's perfect for offshore sailing [but now I wear it around the house all the time too!]
