bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Great! After purchasing I knew this short would be my go to summer short that I purchased a second short a month later. The fabric and fit is perfect and the length is modest enough to sit and bend comfortably.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful! I bought this shorts since my job is on the water and wanted something that would dry quickly. They are amazing! They dry super quick and stay pretty clean

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs very small These shorts are well made but felt a full size too small to me. I ordered the size S - my usual size in Patagonia bottoms and could barely get them on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable board shorts I've found I work as a whitewater guide, so am wearing board shorts every day for 5 months of the year. This is the most comfortable pair of board shorts I have found. So stoked. I am 5'5", 120lbs and the size small (size 4) is a bit big in the waist, but the drawstring makes it work perfect. The size 2 is too tight of a fit for my liking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! These are great shorts, I love the length and feel of them. I'm finding Patagonia's sizes are fitting larger than before, but these shorts buck that trend. I'm 5'4" and 110lbs and now wear a size 2 in most Patagonia pants and bottoms, but I'd read a review that these actually run small so I sized up to a 4. I'm happy I did as these fit comfortably, not too loose, not too baggy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Great, Flattering Too Haven't worn them in the water yet, but they go with my rash guard top.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for paddleboarding but do size up. I just wore these shorts on a SUP/swim trip and they performed just great. The material is very tough with just enough stretch to move with you without losing their shape when wet. The buttons are very secure and the drawstring came in handy for swimming. These shorts are low-rise and look great paired with the Mamala bikini top. At 5'5 128# i am almost always a size 4 in Patagonia, but sized up to a 6 based on other reviews. SO glad I did! These run small, but the length was still perfect, even in a larger size. These shorts are great looking and a great value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute but too small These shorts came today and I was super excited about them, but they are way too small. I ordered these in a size 2 (based on the size chart and other Patagonia items I have in a size 2) but could barely get them on! Definitely order up a size (maybe two!)
