Bangtail Divide, Warrior Creek, the Kokopelli. Why limit yourself? Our new and versatile Dirt Craft Bike Shorts combine a removable, durable, 3-layer, mountain bike–specific padded liner with a do-anything outer short. The comfortable and supportive polyester/spandex stretch liner incorporates power mesh panels for enhanced breathability and connects to the nylon/spandex, stretchy plain-weave outer short with a snapped webbing loop. An internal elastic and button adjustment fine-tunes the fit. To resist light moisture the outer short fabric has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Stash your phone and gels in the drop-in pockets—there’s a secure back-right zippered pocket for keys and cash. Reflective logos at left hem and right back hip provide visibility in low light. With knee articulation and a 9" inseam.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice material bought these for a 200 mile Mtn bike ride this summer. Haven't worn them yet, but seem like they will be comfortable. bought a small (5'8, 134 lbs)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shorts Love the shorts, these are very comfy for riding. I like the pockets, and the back zip pocket, they hold what i need to carry on a ride. However, the fit seems a little off: the XS outer shorts fit me well, but the inside liner is a little snug on me. The S outer shorts are a little too big on me, and i have found the shorts sliding down when riding. (I am 5'6 and 118). Kept the S size, will need to either ride with a belt or snug up the waist a little bit more. Would love a 2nd pair if i can figure out the sizing better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Bike Shorts! Hands down, best bike shorts I've ever purchased. No longer do I have to feel self conscious when I stop in at a store after a long ride for fear of being too exposed. The padding is super cushiony and the outer layer pair of shorts can easily be worn as is. Well worth the investment!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features! Really comfortable shorts, fair padding, but I love the stretch of the fabric.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing I don't know who your XS test model is, but we are apparently the exact same person. Everything that I have ever purchased from Patagonia has been made for me (although I've always wished you guys made petite clothes, as the waistline of your dresses hits me way too low, but that's nether here nor there). For these bike shorts, again, the XS fits me perfect BUT I prefer a baggier look/style. If I could have bought the XS chamois and the S shorts, that would have fit my size AND style much better. Please consider making these individual items! Also, for the person who said the back pocket is silly - it fits a credit card, drivers license, and a few bills - what else do you need to carry while you're riding??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You'll never go back to your old shorts again. These are the best, most comfortable bike shorts I have ever owned. I love them so much I have to hand wash them because I don't do laundry often enough. They are extremely comfortable and versatile. I have worn them biking in the mornings, then taken out the chamois and worked out at the gym afterwards or even gone to work still wearing just the shorts. The padding doesn't get caught on the seat like some shorts I've worn, and it's incredibly breathable with perfect cushioning. I saw one reviewer mention that the chamois would slide up her leg while riding. I have not experienced that at all. I have also found the pockets to be plenty deep and secure, though maybe the design changed a little after that review was submitted. I also think the length is perfect. I don't wear these for fashion (though they are very fashionable in my opinion), but for function. And they function exactly as you would hope for mountain biking--comfortable, cushioning, non-restricting, breathable, and lightweight. I'm 5'2", 130 lbs, and I normally wear size 8-10. I got these in a medium and they fit great. Thank you for these, Patagonia! I'm hoping to buy another pair soon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best.BikeShorts.Ever. Hands down, the best bike shorts I've ever owned. So light and ABLE: breathABLE, durABLE, movABLE. I bought one pair in navy blue and after my first ride, I immediately bought another pair in rattan. I'm fully prepared to discard all other biking shorts because I just don't think I can wear anything else after wearing these. The chamois is the most comfortable I have ever worn; it's also light and breathable while providing ample cushioning for those extended adventures in the saddle without "bunching up" - it stays where it belongs! I'm 5'4" 125ish lbs. and I wear a medium; I probably could just as easily wear a size small but I typically size up when it comes to Patagonia's "slim fit". The waist adjustment is key! The shorts are great post-ride without the chamois; I only wish that they included the option to adjust into shorter shorts for streetwear purposes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I wanted to love these I wanted to love these because they felt really comfy when I put them on. Liner is soft and breathable and comfortable around the waist but the legs slide up gradually as I rode and I found myself having to reach down to yank them back into place. Over shorts were subtle and stretchy and can be used as regular shorts post ride, but I'm not a huge fan of the longer legs that seem to be popular these days. Over shorts were solid for riding but they looked silly on me when walking around (I'm 5'5"). My biggest criticism is with the pockets, or lack thereof. I don't know a mountain biker who doesn't want ample pockets that are deep enough or secure enough to throw stuff in on the fly and feel confident that items won't fall out. Front pockets are shallow and unsecured so I would never use them. There is one small "why bother" zipper pocket in the back/side. If these had a shorter leg option, were in black and had functional pockets, I would have kept them. Patagonia - keep at it on the design you are on the right track.
