Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Women's Double Weave Woven is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super soft and comfortable! I bought this a month ago and have worn it at least a dozen times! It keeps me warm and fits great in the shoulders ( which is where i have trouble with flannels because of my back muscles) I bought a small and it fits a little loose. The shirt is well made and i cant wait to take it camping or hiking and beat it up a bit! I will let you know how it holds up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design and details I love this top! The buttons, details, and stitching are all great. The double-weave material is warmer than a typical button-down but not as toasty as a flannel shirt. Perfect for fall. I tried on both this style and the "Settler's Top" of the same material and chose this one because it is less "blousy." At 5'5, 128#, 34b, the size 4 is a perfect length in sleeves and torso. Thank you, Patagonia, for your attention to detail!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shirt This is a very comfortable, good-looking shirt. I really like that it has no shoulder seams and batwing/dolman style arms instead. It is great for people with broad shoulders. The double weave fabric is a bonus. I liked it so much that I purchased it in both the green-brown and the blue-red.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cut is awesome As a counterpoint to the other review about this shirt, I *love* the slightly relaxed cut under the arms. One of the reasons I don't wear Oxford-cut shirts more often is because the seams often irritate me under the arms when I've been wearing them for too long. This shirt totally solves that problem with what the other reviewer calls its "bat wings." They're not at all noticeable when you're wearing the shirt, but make *such* a huge difference for comfort. I've worn this shirt at least once a week since I bought it a month and a half ago.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fabric is great, but the cut is very odd The double weave fabric is thick and looks durable. However, the cut of the shirt is very odd. It's almost like a batwing shape beneath the arm pits which makes the front of the shirt fit well, but the back of the shirt has a large bulk to it and doesn't lay flat. The bottom of the arm pit comes almost down to the top of my elbow when I extend my arms out to the side and I'm not petite - 5'7". I'm sad to return it because I really liked the fabric and it's pattern. I'm surprised I'm the first person to comment on this. The description says it would pair well with a vest but the way the fit is in the underarm of the shirt (huge), you wouldn't be able to fit the sleeves through the arm holes in a vest. I don't see this effect in any of the photos of the shirt. Maybe I got an odd ball?
