Our Down Sweater is featherweight and superbly compressible. The 100% polyester ripstop shell on this down jacket does more than look sharp; it’s snow-shedding and windproof. Details include 800-fill-power Traceable Down (European goose down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked), stabilized with quilted-through construction, a contoured fit, a drawcord hem that tightens from inside the zippered handwarmer pockets and an interior chest pocket that doubles as a zippered stuffsack with a carabiner clip-in loop. Nylon-bound elastic cuffs seal in heat, and the DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds moisture.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Women's Down Sweater is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 197.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My wife's favorite jacket This is my wife's go to jacket for temps down to the 40s. She loves the look and fit and wants me to get her more colors. Definitely a great layer for the money and it looks great on her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light weight, warm layer I bought this jacket, this past summer when I realized the jackets I packed for a field season in AK were not warm enough. And for the price you can’t beat it! It’s super light weight, and warm. I wore it under my triolet jacket when I was working, and when I was out in town and it was perfect when I wore a warm base layer for the freezing cold, blowing side ways days that I was out in.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor fit I had an older version of the down sweater jacket, and it had a structured elastic at the waist that I imagine made for a comfortable fit on a range of body types. The new model almost seems like a men's cut - it's straight down the sides - and the bottom has a cord, but it can only be adjusted to be smaller. It's also hits pretty low for a jacket (the medium hit mid-bum for me, I'm 5'7''), which means that if you have wider-than-your-torso hips, it either fits too snugly at the hips, or not at all. I usually wear a size medium so I tried sizing up to a large, and while the bottom fit, the arms and chest were way too large. If you are of consistent width from shoulder to bum, this would work for you, but otherwise it felt simultaneously boxy (chest) and tight (hips). I wish it fit better, because I do love the weight and warmth.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boxy fit is a bummer! This jacket has a nice texture, feels warm and has an appropriate length in arms and torso, as well as a good fit across the shoulders. However, the width of the fit in the torso is boxy, with almost too much material to make it a good layer. I am an athletic build and typically wear smalls in regular and athletic clothing, so was surprised to find the fit to be so wide through the waist when the fit was described as 'regular'. I know this product it meant to layer over larger base layers, but I'd literally have to be wearing another full jacket underneath (or a fanny pack) to fill up the space. It's a bummer, because I was pretty excited to use this jacket ski touring, camping and climbing! Bottom line: if you're an apple body shape, this jacket may fit you well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've Ever Owned This is the best jacket I've ever owned. I couldn't decide whether the number of people I've seen wearing this was due to it being trendy or just a great jacket. It's definitely the latter. It somehow always keeps me the right temperature - warm when it's cold outside or just drafty in my office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am flattered! Such an amazing jacket. This gives so much comfort and I am still surprised on how it keeps warm while it is so light. I am in love with it. Would definitely prefer to get another jacket which is a bit lengthier soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Layering Piece This is not warm enough on its own to be a winter coat. It is indeed like a cozy sweater.I wear it around the house more than anything. I use it as a versatile over-or-under-layer when hiking and camping. It packs down nicely. It's a great jacket in 40-60 degree weather. I don't think that it blocks the wind that much. If its cold, you're going to feel it. The buffalo green is very pretty; not too loud. I'm between a small and medium. Went with a medium so I could wear a sweater and vest under it, but its not so bulky that I can't throw a heavier coat over all that, if needed--and it looks good no matter what.
