Run, ride, rock—just don’t go without our up-for-anything Houdini® Jacket. It encourages improvisation with its weather-resistant 100% nylon ripstop fabric that blocks wind and withstands abrasion on multi-hour adventures. The slim fit accommodates a baselayer or a light midlayer; the improved hood cinches with a single pull and won’t pinch your ears; cording, toggles and cuffs are all trim and lightweight. Half-elastic cuffs seal the wrists, and a drawcord cinches the hem. It packs snugly into its own small, vertically zippered chest pocket, which has a reinforced clip-in loop for attaching to your hydration-pack straps. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish coats the shell and the center-front zipper. With a reflective logo on the left chest and center-back neck.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Women's Houdini® Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Houdini Jacket I needed a light, breathable, yet water resistant jacket for walking the dog, city/trail running, and hiking. This jacket is perfect for all my outdoor activities in moderately cool weather. It even be used as a light layer for example under the Nano Puff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Houdini jacket is perfect I have the version of this jacket from 2009...so my jacket is currently 8 yrs old. It's still my favorite lightweight running jacket and still my 'go to' for those windy days that are a little drizzly. I've run and hiked in this jacket in Alaska, Michigan, Colorado and Texas (and some states between) Highly recommended. Still a great performer after all this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent layering jacket, great for climbing. I bought this jacket for layering and its light water repelling. It's perfect to layer up on a climb or over a puffy while bike commuting. Love the portability and bright colors. Looks and handles like it will stand the test of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Magic! This jacket is the best for wind, light rain, and light snow. For winter, I wear a wool long sleeve pullover, a Patagonia Puff Jacket, and then the Houdini. Moisture is pulled out between the puff and the Houdini and I stay warm. I wear a medium next to my body so I bought the large for layering. It works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential piece of gear I LOVE this jacket and recommend it to everyone I know. This super-light windshirt is incredibly versatile. They hold up amazingly--I currently have my third Houdini in ~15 years. On backpacking trips, I wear this sometimes 24 hours/day depending on the climate. Then I wash it in the sink and it comes back to life. It's a key piece of gear for me and worth every penny. I also bring this anytime I travel because it's so light and is very useful for its size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Emporers New Shell First, I'm a huge fan of Patagonia products!!! Second, every site I went to claimed this is the one!! I create and lose heat easily and wanted something to simply block wind on casual runs. The size runs small. I'm 5'6, 115lb and not much chest. A small was very snug with a Capeline 3 Base layer underneath. When I started my run the first thing I noticed is drag from the hood. Running into wind it acted like one of those parachute training devices you see professional athletes use. When it wasn't pulling me back, it was snapping all over. On the return run into the wind the hood smooshed up against my head. Wind protection wise the jacket did nothing. I built heat, the wind hit me and gave me a chill. As the run continued I started to sweat because it felt like I was trapped in a tent tarp. Building more heat made the wind hitting me even worse. There's zero way to vent this jacket aside from taking it off. I just don't get the hype!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thin but WARM! This jacket is whisper thin -- but when I wear it over a base layer, a flannel shirt and thin fleece sweater, I am comfortable in mid-40 degree weather. No need for a bulky down jacket. The jacket packs up into a small pouch which makes it ideal for carrying around without adding weight or bulk. When unravelled, it looks a little wrinkled -- but the wrinkles smooth out after a few minutes. As with most of Patagonia's women's products, the jacket runs a tad small. I'd recommend sizing up.
