Don’t go without our up-for-anything Houdini® Jacket. Weather-resistant 100% nylon ripstop fabric blocks wind and withstands abrasion on multihour adventures. The slim fit accommodates a baselayer or a light midlayer; the improved hood cinches with a single pull and won’t pinch your ears; cording, toggles and cuffs are all trim and lightweight. Half-elastic cuffs seal the wrists, and a drawcord cinches the hem. It packs snugly into its own small, vertically zippered chest pocket, which has a reinforced clip-in loop for attaching to your hydration-pack straps. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish coats the shell and the center-front zipper. With a reflective logo on the left chest and center-back neck.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Women's Houdini® Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 80.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential Gear This goes everywhere with me. Daily bike commute to long backpacking trips. Travel. Wouldn't be without it. Featherweight, packs to nothing, and incredible addition to warmth. One of Patagonia's best garments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs small. Good as a portable extra layer. I just retired two older Houdinis and bought this model. Same fabric, but this one seems a bit more fitted. I wear an XS in the nano puff, but went with a medium in the Houdini. I tried on a small, but it was tighter and shorter than I wanted. Where I live, I never know what to expect when heading outside. Wet weather is never an issue, but wind is, so I always carry a jacket I can take on and off and stuff into a pack or bag. The Houdini isn’t warm, so I take something warmer for cool or cold weather. But it is so convenient that I always have it with me during the spring and summer. I keep it stuffed it its pocket, so it comes out quite wrinkled when I pull it out, but it’s often the only protection I have when I am out and about in warm weather, so I’m happy to have it even with the wrinkles (which go away if you hang it up and spritz it with water). It’s a durable fabric, which is also a plus. So I recommend it to carry in your pack, bag, or glove compartment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this jacket- it is perfect I've had my Houdini for 4 years now and I don't remember life before it. It is the perfect layer if you're a little cold or there's a little wind, or it's lightly misting. It's so small, you can take it anywhere, whip it out anytime. It helps you regular your temperature amazingly- I never feel too hot in it. Layer under a puffy for the best wind proof warm layer. I now also have an Alpine Houdini for more water resistance, but still use my Houdini for almost every outdoor adventure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Outer Layer in Changing Conditions I wore this jacket during our K9SAR missions in Montecito. It was perfect for the mission. It provided a light protective layer during early damp callouts when the inversion layer made the air damp. As the day heated up it dried very quickly when sweaty and provided a light waterproof shield against mud splatters. When it got way too sunny and hot by mid-day to wear, it packed away easily into my hydration vest, and I pulled it back out again in the evenings to insulate (a bit) against external dampness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best clothing item I was given this jacket years ago and wore it for so many occasions and reasons - layered under a jacket for more warmth and neck / head protection from wind and light rain, as a light jacket in the evening in summer, on a windy beach and in the hot summer sun for protection as I burn even with lotion and it breaths in the heat, on airplanes when chilled or too much air blowing. Have worn it hiking and when crossing water or in light rain it dries super fast. It can be stuffed anywhere and can be tied around waist on hikes. The zipper just broke and I sent it to Patagonia for possible repair. I was issued a credit and will buy another - I have missed it already. I am 5'2'', over 65 and have widened in the midriff since first getting the jacket so will order a Small this time as it is a slim fit. Love this jacket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I really want to like this jacket This jacket is cute, light weight, practical and comfortable but it is NOT breathable. I wear it running regularly and the inside of the jacket is soaked at the end of each run. Total disappointment. I wish I knew this before I bought it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight as advertised This is an excellent windbreaker. I love that it packs small so that I can easily throw it in my biking backpack or in my overnight hiking pack and it takes up practically no room. The fit is a bit snugger than other products I have from Patagonia. My only complaint is that my cell phone doesn't fit in the only pocket. I am 5'7" 145lbs and got the medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shell. I wear this so often, I think it is my all time favorite item of clothing. I love it for its functionality and versatility. I went up a size so I could layer...or not. I sometimes will layer it over my down sweater on windy, or drizzly days, or I'll wear it with a tank top in summer for wind, rain or sun protection. It's super light weight and easy to pack and drys in a flash. Don't expect it to keep you dry in a deluge or keep you warm in a blizzard, but if you're looking for a versatile shell this is it.
