The primordial art of this hoody illustrates David Brower’s notion that progress lies in turning around and taking a forward step. Knit of an organic cotton/recycled polyester fleece fabric (and a bit of spandex for stretch), the sweatshirt’s sturdy but soft 8.9-oz fabric blend provides medium-weight comfort. Original artwork by Daniella Manini is screen-printed at center front using PVC- and phthalate-free inks. Classic pullover design and a modern fit with two-panel, drawcord hood to cinch in warmth. Rib-knit cuffs and waistband won't lose their snap; front kangaroo pocket holds the essentials. Fair Trade Certified™ sewing throughout garment.

Fair Trade Certified™

We pay a premium for every Fair Trade Certified item that carries our label. That extra money goes directly to the workers at the factory, and they decide how to spend it. The program also promotes worker health and safety and social and environmental compliance, and encourages dialog between workers and management. Fair Trade is one of the first tools we’re using at Patagonia to raise workers’ wages, improve their standard of living and move them closer to earning a living wage.

Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Women's Illustrated Flying Fish Mw P/O Hoode is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great mid weight sweatshirt Great mid-weight sweatshirt. 5'6", 130 lbs - definitely size small is the normal fit, but I purposefully bought a medium so it would be the big super comfy sweatshirt for post skiing, fishing and/or curling up with a good book! Trident sporting fish screen print is fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Fav! Love it! My new favorite fall sweatshirt. Thin enough to wear under a vest without being bulky and looks fine with shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect hoodie! I have never found a more perfect fitting hoodie! I am 5'9 and about 125 lbs and bought this in a small. The arms are nice and long, the cut is slim- not boxy and not too tight- with plenty of room to move, and very little to no shrinkage after the first wash. The length is great, hitting slightly below my hips so it offers a little rear coverage when wearing after a run with tights. While this is a midweight fleece, I expected it to maybe be a little heavier but it is just right to layer a tshirt or to fit under a jacket. Love it!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too big and not flattering I am a solid medium in Patagonia clothes and was surprised at the fit. While I know that hoodies tend to be relaxed, this one was more than needed. The sleeves easily extended past my fingertips and the cut was boxier than I expected from the usual Patagonia women's cut. I wondered if I ordered a men's hoodie by mistake and had to double check. The pattern is cool and I would love it in a t-shirt.
