Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Women's Light & Lined Studio Pants is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Teaching/Training Pants I bought these a couple of months ago and I love them for teaching yoga. I am 5'5" with a 29.5" inseam, a 28" waist and 37" hips with 20" circumference on thighs. I had my seamstress put in 2" elastic to slightly tighten the waist so my shirt doesn't come untucked when I do yoga poses. They are conservative enough that you come across as professional regardless of the pose you are doing and in all circumstances which is important for the population that I teach, The pockets are great and I'm pretty sure if you buy the x iPhone it will fit in the leg pocket. Most pants grab my thighs, these are the perfect pants for those of us with athletic builds that might not be that tall and they are immensely flattering. Yes if I go deeply into poses the calves hold up the pants a bit. But, they did put stretchy fabric in to solve that and maybe an inch more of the stretchy fabric would have been better (my calves are 14" in circumference). I'm overall so impressed with everything else that I can easily live with that. Thank you Patagonia for realizing those of us with athletic builds want to look feminine too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't work for short stocky legs I so wanted these to work but the fit was terrible. They were too tight in the calves and the waist was super high on me. I have short, stocky legs and a short waist. The length was fine but the fit of the waist was so weird I had to send them back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love! I was kind of worried about ordering them since I had read so many reviews about them being kind of sketchy, however I could not be happier. I got them in the carbon which more of a green colour and they're so soft, stretchy and comfortable. In a few reviews they said the ankle was an issue and the calf was tight, however I don't have this issue and there is some stretch near the bottom so that they com on easier. I usually have the small waist but actually uses legs (therefore my thighs are often an issue) but these pants are small at the waist and have space in the legs and TONS of pockets. Thank you Patagonia for understanding that women also carry things in their pants. I will 100% be taking these on my next hiking trip and plane ride or anything else. I also feel as though they would hold up well using them in a climbing gym or throwing them on after being in the river, or acceptable to wear to class (uni student). Im a big fan. I am just under 5,3, roughly 120 pounds and have a regular build. Personally I like to wear my clothes on the looser size and I love the fit of the small. I probably could have gone for the extra small, but appreciate the extra room both for comfort and with the holidays fast approaching. I find they fit similar to the baggies in the sense that they're meant to have a nice, relaxed fit and are easy to pull on after an activity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good for petite women These have an unusual fit and style... but I have found they work well for me, so I wanted to give a more positive review than most of the others that have been left. I went into my local outdoor store looking for a similar pant from a different brand and left with these instead. For reference, I am 5'1" and in the mid 120's for weight; I bought a size small. The length of these are perfect. They are lined, and kept me warm through a day of climbing yesterday. I have plenty of movement in them, and honestly, I am pretty pleased. It is so hard to find climbing pants that fit a short frame! Only 4 stars though, because the waist band could use less fabric; when hiking with a heavy climbing pack, the waist kept getting pushed down if I had the waist band rolled down, but rolling it up covered my whole torso and felt like a maternity pant!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I wanted to love them. But I can't. I love the way the fabric feels on these, and was looking forward to a colder weather option to my Happy Hike Studio Pants, which I wear constantly. The fit on these is completely different. The waistband is too long and too wide to attempt to wear it unfolded, and in order to fold it down enough to find an appropriate fit, the front pockets are completely covered and the back pooches out awkwardly. They were both tight at the hip and loose through the thigh, then extremely tight in the calf. The side detailing on the cuff with stretch fabric would be a nice touch, except the rest of the threading on the cuff prevents the cuff from stretching out, and pretty quickly started to cut into my leg. I own the Happy Hikes in both M and L for different purposes. Mediums for actual hiking, and L for a more slouchy hammer pant look. I tried the Light and Lineds in M, L and XL and it was a no go across the board.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks promising but fit weird I love the color of these and how they fit on the model, so I was so psyched to order them in my usual size (xs). I was surprised that they fit a lot tighter than pictured on the model, especially in the calves. I think these are actually more of a slim fitting technical tight than an alternative to the happy hike studio pant, which was what I was hoping for (looser fit, etc). I returned them but because the color and fabric are so nice, I would like to try a size up before I write these off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique I happen to love the Happy Hike Studio Pants and find these similar with a Serenity Pants waistband. If you don't like the feel of the pant legs occasionally fitted around your calves, these may not be for you. I admit that I had to get past that before I loved them. Carbon color is nice. I have wider hips & flatter stomach. 5'8" 155 and ordered Medium. (I swam in the Large).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wanted to love these I wanted to love these so much. The fabric is so nice, and I love the look on the model in the picture! Unfortunately, the sizing is really strange and not conducive to my body type. I ordered a medium (I am normally a small or medium in Patagonia), and they sat loosely on my waist but were very tight through the hips and butt. I returned them and ordered a size up, and the waist is so enormous it won't stay up, but the legs are still so tight I can't sit down in them. They're also pulling badly across the thighs. Also, on neither pair could I pull these up my calves in the way pictured--they are too tight to pull them any higher than an inch above my ankle. Maybe Patagonia needs to make a curvy fit for those of us with butts and hips! With lots of regret, I will be sending these back.
