Rated 5 out of 5 by from good sun cover love this lightweight shirt for sun cover, quick wash and dry for travel

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Sun Protection I bought this as a beach & sun cover up for a trip to NZ over the holidays. I got a large (normally I wear a M) and the fit was generous without being comical. I love the snap front and the fasteners to hold the rolled up sleeves up - both were very useful. The side panels and the under arm part of the sleeve panels are of a slightly different material, which bothered me some but I can see how it might be useful or may have made the shirt more comfortable because these panels are of a knit fabric that has some give. The color was slightly different - I got a white shirt and the panels were slightly darker in some lights - which bothered me some, but the functionality of the shirt far outweighed this quibbling difference. It did indeed keep my shoulders and arms free of sunburn (without using any sunscreen) and would have protected my décollage had I actually buttoned the shirt fully over my bathing suit. Can't wait to take advantage of this UPF shirt next summer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sun protection, quick dry Just returned from a trip to Brazil--fly fishing in the Amazon with Nomadic Waters. This was perfect--good sun protection, quick dry in high humidity and heat, also good wash and wear item

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sun shirt - looks good enough for the office I like clothing that pulls double (or more) duty. This is a great sun shirt to wear casually over a bathing suit. But it also looks decent with a pair of black slacks in the office...and definitely will be good for traveling (can wash in a sink and dry fast...doesn't wrinkle...lightweight/not bulky, etc.).Fit is good - not a bag/sack fit but not too tight. And has some stretch which is good because I have broad shoulders.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nicely constructed but fabric needs improvement This shirt is well made, and I like the large zipper pocket on one side, plus the chest pockets. It blocks the sun well. However, it's not very comfortable in humid climates - it seems to trap sweat/moisture in. I tried wearing it over a wet swimsuit to protect myself from the sun, but got so uncomfortably hot I needed to take it off. It doesn't seem to dry super fast either. I think it would be a good choice for a dry climate though. I am 5'2", 120 lbs, and got the small. It fits fine, but if I was intending to wear this as a general travel shirt around town, I would probably go with the XS for a closer fit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great fabric, but fit didn't work. I have several old Sol Patrol Shirts and I love the fabric for summer in the desert sun protection, and the zip pocket is wonderful. I so wanted this new version to work but 1. the style was too snug in the hip area while loose and baggy on top. (Please, Patagonia, take into account that even athletic women have hips! Between that and your new huge waist/low rise bottoms, I find fewer styles I can wear anymore). And 2. The stripe down the middle of the front was distracting and definitely not flattering. Sadly I had to return this and hope my old Sol Patrols hold out until you return to a better style for my body type. Stars for fabric and zip pocket, and recommend only to women who have boy hips.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dark gray panel doesn't go with the light shirt I really liked the cut, feel and color of this shirt but have to return it for the style factor. I have an older cut in white and wear it all the time as my main sun shirt for hiking and beach bumming. Was disappointed with the color scheme here. Look closely and you'll see a dark grey strip going down the inner panel of snaps, making it very noticeable as its too dark of a contrast with the light blue shirt for my liking. White would have looked much more feminine and subtle.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poorly constructed Not good quality, with lots of loose threads on the seams inside. I like the fabric, but have not yet tested it for sun protection. I expect more from Patagonia.
