Additional Information

A study in balancing weight and protection, the M10™ uses our lightest-weight 3-layer fabric in a design that exemplifies the ideas of minimalism and efficiency at the core of any high-end alpine endeavor.

For monster alpine routes, trimming your gear to the bare essentials requires calculations. But it ain’t rocket surgery (fortunately), and our M10™ Jacket tidily solves the equation. The soft, pliable, 3-layer waterproof/breathable H2No® Performance Standard nylon ripstop fabric yields surprising durability for its weight while protecting against monsoon-season precip and summit ridge gusts. Low-profile handwarmer pockets sit above harness line and complement the single exterior zippered chest pocket that doubles as a stuffsack (with reinforced clip-in loop). Details include sonically welded seams with the narrowest possible tape, watertight zippers and cuffs that adjust with ultraminimalist hook-and-loop closures. A single pull adjusts the helmet-compatible hood (with laminated visor and simplified cord-and-hook stow design), and a drawcord hem blocks out spindrift backdraft.
  • H2No® Performance Standard shell is built with ultralight, 3-layer, waterproof/breathable nylon ripstop with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • Ultrasonic-welded seams are reinforced with narrow seam tape for superlow bulk
  • Alpine helmet-compatible hood with laminated visor and single-pull adjustment rolls down and stows with a simplified cord-and-hook design
  • Two high handwarmer pockets and exterior left-chest pocket have coated, watertight zippers
  • Self-stuffs into chest pocket with carabiner clip-in loop
  • Minimal self-fabric hook-and-loop cuff closures; drawcord hem

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

The entire fabric package is highly packable and designed for prolonged use in extreme weather.

Women's M10 Jacket is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A favorite summer gear piece I used this jacket on a weekly basis this past summer, and used it as recently as yesterday. I really wanted a piece that would keep rain out for hours without seeping through, and this M10 jacket performed great! No disapointments with this jacket; I used this jacket while riding horses and packing mules in the rain and wind in the backcountry and it held up to the abrasion of saddling pack animals and putting loads on mules. I collected fire wood in the rain and no tears or scratches. I rode over mountain passes and no wind seeped in. I love this jacket! Kept me said during hard times. It also breaths well under physical exertion. I am 5'9 and about 135 lbs and a medium fits with room for fleece/wool layers underneath and no constriction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it I purchased this because I wanted a light, compact waterproof jacket for a trip. It served me well and held up to it's claim. My friend liked it so much, she is getting one for herself as well. I like the XXS as it fits me better and doesn't make me look bulky. I'm so glad I bought this and it will serve me well for years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded expectations I purchased this item as part of my preparation for the Tour Divide, a mountain bike race that goes from Banff to Mexico. I special ordered this item from Black Dome Mountain Sports in Asheville, NC and received it promptly. I received it on the day I was departing to do a planned six day bicycle touring trip from Atlanta to Savannah, which I ultimately completed in five days. On the last two days of the trip it rained all day each day. This jacket kept me dry and its hood was large enough for me to put it over my helmet. I did not feel any condensation while riding. When I received it, I was a little concerned because it was so light in weight and I wasn't sure it would hold up. The hood was a special plus for me in addition to the chest pocket. The zippers do seem to take a little work but perhaps in time they will become easier. It does fold small into the chest pocket, perfect for those who have limited space in their baggage.
