As a sleek micro-belay parka on chilly rock routes or as an insulated jacket during alpine squalls, the Nano Puff® Jacket traps heat and blocks the wind. The 100% recycled polyester shell sheds moisture and fits effortlessly in your layering system, while the low-bulk, hydrophobic, highly compressible 60-g PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco—with 55% postconsumer recycled content—warms with remarkable efficiency, even when wet. The shape is sculpted with narrow horizontal quilting on the side panels, and the soft, wicking interior storm flap and zipper garage add chin comfort. The internal zippered chest pocket doubles as a self-stuffsack with a carabiner clip-in loop. Details include two zippered handwarmer pockets, elasticized cuffs and a dual-adjust drawcord hem to seal out wind and seal in warmth.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Insulation

We use PrimaLoft® insulation inside insulated garments for its warmth, compressibility, and soft comfort. While the human body uses energy to stay warm, PrimaLoft insulation uses a patented microfiber structure to help the body retain warmth and conserve energy.

The proprietary ultra-fine fibers of PrimaLoft insulation form a tight collection of air pockets that trap heat from your body and keep the cold out, providing an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. When insulation gets wet, it loses these air pockets and consequently, its insulating properties. PrimaLoft ultra-fine fibers were developed to be water resistant so your insulation stays drier and maintains its insulating properties even when wet.

Women's Nano Puff® Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for 21-day Grand Canyon rafting trip I bought this last minute for a three-week river trip and am so glad I did. I wore it almost 24/7. It is indeed water- and wind-resistant. I'm 5'3, 130lbs, 32DD, hourglass shape, and normally wear a 4 or 6 on top. While the XS had a great-looking fit (perfect length in sleeves and torso), I sized up to a S so I could wear some layers underneath without any constriction. The S accomodated two heavyweight merino baselayers and a merino hoody perfectly, without being binding. It worked well under my drysuit and around camp under a down parka. The black didn't show the great deal of schmutz it acquired. I just washed and dried it and it looks great. My only request from Patagonia is to go back to the older sizing where tops weren't so long in the torso. The longer cuts feel a little matronly on me and with super low-cut pants not so faddish, tops don't need to be so long. Thanks!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Jacket...but insulation is coming out I have loved patagonia jackets for years. I got my first nano puff in middle school and it lasted me until my sophomore year of college with no issues. I finally decided to get a new one, and I was super pumped to have a brand new one! After about 5 wears, the insulation started to come out from the seams. It's a bit disappointing considering this is a pretty pricey jacket... I just expected the same quality of my first nano puff. I'm sad, but I've already worn it so I can't return it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inconsistency in fit I ordered a size S in the nano puff and it was VERY tight in the shoulders and arms. I've gotta return it. I have two older nano puffs, size S, that I use for running and they fit perfectly. After I received this one in the mail, I went over to our local outdoor store and tried on three nano puffs in size S and guess what? They all fit. I expect inconsistency in cheap brands - I get it, the factories are spread across several countries and factories sometimes vary in production. However, when I'm spending this kind of money, I expect A) superb construction B) attention to detail, and C) consistent fit across the board. Really disappointed in this issue as I've read other reviews state the same problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Go-To Jacket! I bring this with me everywhere! Keeps me warm in 30 degree weather and a great layering piece for when the temperatures dip lower. Compacts down nicely in my pack for use at summits. I am 5'5", 135 lbs and the medium is roomy enough to layer underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, thin, vibrant color I purchased this for myself for Christmas in Straight Blue. It's so thin but warm, exactly what I was looking for. Wore it on a walk when it was -10 outside and this jacket kept me plenty warm (I was a little surprised, I thought I would have needed a shell over it). The color is beautiful and the fit perfect (I'm 5'5", very athletic 150 lbs, medium was perfect). It allows me to layer without bulk. As with all my Patagonia items, the quality is fantastic. I'll have this as part of my winter wardrobe for a very long time!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light I like this jacket but don't love it. I, as others have stated, have trouble with the zipper getting caught on the sides as I pull the zipper to open and close. Also, this jacket is not warm but a good layering jacket. For this money, the zipper should work with ease. I have two of the puffer vests and adore them for layering and no zipper problems with those.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not warm enough I bought this coat in the fall and didn't have a chance to wear until now (Dec.) and found it not warm at all. The temperature was 35 and sunny and I could feel the cold right through the coat. For the price, I was hoping I would be warm enough without adding another layer. If you're looking for "sweater" warmth, then you might like this coat. Sorry, but I'll be returning this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great light coat Since winters around here aren't getting very cold anymore, this is my go-to coat. It cuts the wind really well, and gives a light insulation layer. Don't expect to put too many layers underneath, as it's pretty form fitting. Perfect coat in the warming climate, I guess.
