Quandary Pants were made for sticky situations, like choosing which pants to wear for the next 15 days or for a hot and humid Tepui approach. They’re made with lightweight and stretchy 96% nylon/4% spandex with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and provide 40-UPF sun protection. These technical pants are gusseted and have articulated knees for mobility. Built for versatility, you can roll them up and secure them with tabs and snaps at the knees. They feature a metal-snap closure, zippered fly, belt loops and drop-in pockets on the front and back. The side cargo pocket zips and secures valuables. Inseam (size 8) is 32".

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really small I don't understand the sizing at all--I am 5'2'' and 135 pounds and the size 10 are like sausage casings. I am sending them back and getting a 12 and hope they fit. They are clearly wonderful pants, exactly what I am looking for, but why are they so small on me?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic all-around pants! I bought these pants 2 years ago, and they're my go-to pants for every occasion. Backpacking in Washington, hiking everywhere, climbing and caving in West Virginia, flying across the country, commuting to work. I've even painted in them. They're a good mix of soft and durable. Super stretchy and comfy. Washes nicely. I am 5'4" and 135lbs and the size 6 is almost perfect. A little big on the hips, but fits my athletic legs better than any other pants. I can wear legging under them for colder weather. And they roll up nicely and button for warmer weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I never order pants online I realize a lot of people have trouble finding pants that fit, but here's my deal. I'm 5'3", have narrow hips, and am athletic so I have muscles . . . therefore most pants are too wide in the waist or too tight in the thighs or something is wrong in multiple places, but these fit me PERFECTLY.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Purchased My Second Pair I'm a geologist, so I do quite a bit of field work. I bought a pair of these in July and love them so much that I just finished purchasing a second pair. My current pair (which I'm wearing at the moment) is still in great condition despite all the briars and thick brush I've walked through!! They're comfortable and allow mobility without restriction, durable, and are great whether it's hot, cold, dry, or rainy. I. Love. These. Pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too short I want these pants to fit me so bad! They are beautiful, stretchy, and super awesome but they are too short! Why are they available in different lengths for men but not women?? You're killing me Patagucci! I'm 5'8, 133 lbs, size four fit well in all ways but the length. Bummed :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfort I love these pants! Comfort and fit are perfect, very similar to the rock pants I purchased a couple years ago. Patagonia you got it going on!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, but sturdy Needed some new hiking pants and am very happy with these! They actually fit my short frame without being baggy in the rear or too long. I'm 5'4", 111lbs and size 2 are comfortable...not too loose, not too tight. When I have a full backpack on, they slipped down the hips a bit, but using the drawstring helped keep them up. They were comfortable on chilly evenings and also during the heat of the day, plus I love the gray color! A friend I was backpacking with actually ordered her own pair once we got home!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance on Kilimanjaro I climb in these pants routinely and they are perfect for both indoor and outdoor climbing. The fabric is strong enough to hold up against jagged edges of rock, but still extremely flexible and allows great movement. The pants really earned their marks on a recent trek up Kilimanjaro. They were sufficiently warm for low altitude days and layered better than I expected when the temperatures started dropping. They are also super-quick-drying. I had an incident in nature's bathroom and by the time I got back to laugh about it with my group, the pants had already dried... these pants earned my undying loyalty after that!
