The Women’s River Salt stands up to salt spray, hard use and serious nor’easters. Made with extra-tough H2No® Performance Standard 4-layer, 5.4-oz wader fabric with a waterproof/breathable barrier and a NanoSphere® DWR (durable water repellent) finish, this is our burliest fishing jacket. Specifically designed to fit women anglers, the waterproof, corrosion-resistant YKK® front zipper and watertight adjustable cuffs seal out wind-driven precipitation. Two large, streamlined front zippered pockets hold fly boxes, close with TPU-coated, water-repellent zips and won’t snag flying line on the shoot. Mesh draining elastic drawcord at hem effectively manages excess water. When you have to crank up and run into the teeth of it, the innovative, vented hood stays in place at speed.
  • 100% polyester microfiber H2No® Performance Standard shell, with a waterproof/breathable barrier and a NanoSphere® DWR (durable water repellent) finish; same fabric we use for our toughest waders
  • Two TPU-coated, water-repellent front-zippered pockets sized to hold fly boxes; one small upper-arm pocket for lip balm or sunscreen; waterproof and corrosion-resistant YKK® front zipper
  • Innovative, fully vented, adjustable hood designed to stay in place, even at high boat speed
  • Watertight adjustable cuffs
  • Mesh draining elastic drawcord at hem
  • H2No® Performance Standard shell: 4-layer, 5.4-oz 100% plain weave, with a waterproof/breathable barrier and a NanoSphere® DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • 606 g (21.4 oz)
  • Made in Vietnam.

Weatherproof

Patagonia developed the 4-layer fabric construction for our waders to increase breathability and abrasion resistance, move moisture away from the body, and decrease the weight.

Our exterior fabrics are densely woven 100% polyester microfibers for durability and puncture resistance. On one side we apply our H2No® waterproof coating for waterproof/breathable performance. On the other side we apply a Hydrophilic laminate that pulls moisture away from the body so it can be passed out through the exterior shell.

To protect the hydrophilic laminate we use a soft polyester tricot lining that increases abrasion resistance yet maintains a soft, supple drape. Finally, we apply a DWR (durable water repellent) treatment as the first line of defense in keeping these waders waterproof.

Women's River Salt Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from 'Regular fit' it is not River salt is so snug under the arms as to be unwearable (I ordered a Small based on other Patagonia I own) now the Medium size is sold out and I am bummed! Patagonia is my favorite brand and so I am familiar with which size in Patagonia's Regular vs Slim fit I can use- have M4 shell, couple of R2's various fleece. I budget for my fly fishing gear and it was time to buy a good wading jacket for cold weather but back to the drawing board for me. Too bad because the streamlined design is a good one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! This is a great jacket, not only for fly fishing but for wearing in general. It's practical yet stylish, so you can wear it while out in the water or when you're walking around town. I'm 5'4" and 125lbs - the small fits perfectly. I have an athletic build so I was worried that the shoulders would be a little constricting in the small, but no issues!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from game changer! this jacket is a game changer!! i work aboard boats in windy cold wet environments, california, new zealand, alaska etc, and in the past have either had both ugly and ill fitting boating foul weather gear, or the torrentshell jacket, this jacket is perfectly designed for working on or near the water AND doesn't look goofy either. the pockets are snuggly and big enough to cover your wrists as well! love all the little extra zippers, and the well placed soft material on the zipper near the chin. the only things i would change about the jacket would be making a slightly larger neck, i wear this jacket with a nano puff and down vest and it is AMAZING! after so long being cold and wet it is a relief to know your jacket will keep you warm and cozy! the wrist "seals" are great they dont chafe and actually get tight enough to keep rain and salt water and wind out! the front logo is a little weird, as im not a fly fisher! otherwise many thanks for a great jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Jacket I've worn this jacket hard for the past several years; criss-crossing the US and several countries, in fresh and salt, chasing everything from trout to striped bass. Solid jacket all around—enough pockets to hold both a fly box and lens caps, and fitted enough for a feminine silhouette. Love the pop color, the fabric, the fit... everything. Sleeves are long enough, and the cuff system keeps me DRY. Fabulous jacket all around. As someone who works full-time in the fly-fishing industry and as an outdoor photographer, I end up testing a lot of gear. But this is the only wading jacket (and, usually, rain jacket of any kind) that comes on photo assignments and fishing trips.
