Learn More Close
The pitch of a lifetime rises above. There’s only one way to decide who leads it. Rock, Paper, Scissors, best two out of three. Throw your magic and rack up. Our RPS Pants give you unrestricted movement on techy routes; they’re our lightest-weight rock climbing pants, made from a nylon/polyester stretch-woven fabric with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. They transform easily into capris with a simple pull of the hidden elastic draw cord at the hem. A modest, loose fit allows freedom of movement on steep, sticky hikes with room for a baselayer during an open bivy. The waist features a unique adjustable button closure, zip fly and low-profile belt loops. Two front drop-in mesh pockets lie flat under a harness, while two integrated rear patch pockets offer an extra layer of protection for your seat on ledge belays. A zippered thigh pocket holds a topo, lighter, lip balm and other small goods.
  • Light and breathable synthetic-blend fabric has modest stretch and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • Articulated pattern, darted knees and a gusseted crotch enhance movement and comfort under a harness
  • Separating zip fly with belt loops and unique OppoSet™ adjustable waist offers a customized fit
  • Drop-in hand pockets have breathable mesh pocket bags, darts for a lay-flat entry and a coin-catch bartack that doubles as a toothbrush holder
  • Two rear, top-entry pockets create a reinforced seat for added durability
  • Right thigh security zip pocket sits comfortably above the knee and below harness leg loops
  • Cuffs adjust with an ultralow-profile shock cord and sliding knot
  • 4.5-oz 52% nylon/48% polyester stretch plain weave with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • 274 g (9.7 oz)
  • Made in Vietnam.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essentially PJs You Can Wear in Public I've had these pants for three weeks and they've already changed my life for the better. I originally bought them for rock climbing, which they work great for; they stay up (a challenge for most of my pants since I don't have a butt to keep pants up), and are flattering without being too tight. I also where these pants for my ecology field work. They're lightweight and breathable but still water resistance. Unlike some other light-color light weight pants I've tried my underwear doesn't show through. There's also plenty of pocket's without being too much like 90s cargo pants. The cuffs cinch up, a feature I didn't think I needed but has been surprisingly useful. I usually have a hard time with fit too, but I just ordered the same size as some Columbia pants I own and they fit great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great field pants I bought these for environmental field work and they're working out great so far. The first time I wore them I had to walk through a field of briars and expected to see snags or worse, but the pants came through just fine. They've also rinsed clean of lots of dirt with no sign of staining. And they're comfortable to boot. A win all around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great technical climbing pant Love these pants! I use these a lot for work where I will spend multiple hours in a harness as well as my personal climbing pursuits! They are comfortable, dry fast in sweaty/rainy conditions and pack down super small. They stretch quite a bit less than I expected so I just ordered another pair one size up so that I can fit a thermal layer underneath in time for climbing season in Bishop! I also really like that chalk brushes off really easily. It's convenient when you are going to meet up with friends after a gym climbing session and want to keep your mountain chic outfit to a minimum. The only thing that drives me nuts is that the front pockets are not attached to the pant at the bottom and always end up bunched up near the top of the pocket even from just walking around and the elastic in the bottom cuff slowly works it's way loose. I may sew the bottom corner down myself to further prevent this small nuisance. Other than those two small things these pants are a total win.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Functional climbing pant Love how lightweight, breathable, and durable these pants are. They've kept me cool during warm weather climbing and stood up to rock abrasion with snagging or pilling so hooray! Also love the zippered pocket for stashing bars during multi-pitch climbs. However, the fit is a little odd. I'm petite (5'7" 115 lbs.) with narrow hips and waist and the zero fits well except it is rather short! Also, the style is wide leg, making the short length look a little goofy. I've ended up rolling them up when I'm climbing which looks a little better. I'm keeping them, because at the end of the day I'll take functionality over style in my climbing pant, but I would love it if I could have both! Please make them with different inseam lengths! Also, a slimmer fit through the leg would make them transition from the crag to the street/restaurant/bar infinitely better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These fit a bit more snug than the same size Tribune pants. Otherwise great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good pants I've worn the pants several times, including to the climbing gym, and really like them. The only issue is the drawstring in the pants cuff, it doesn't actually hold, so the pants remain too wide at the bottom to use climbing unless one rolls them up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not For Rock Climbing I purchased these pants and took them straight out the a granite, but short, alpine climb. Within the first hour the pants had two abrasion holes in them. My rock guide pants (no longer made) lasted years of similar treatment without developing holes. Overall, very disappointing. Sizing: 5'8, 115, size 2 fit perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall great pants, needs some tweaks I have used these pants almost exclusively for trad climbing. They are designed to have a looser fit, which as a gal with big quads, I very much appreciate. I can high step, foot-hand match and do other crazy moves without ripping the inseam as I move about. I did have trouble with the elastic at the hem keeping the legs up at first, but I just tied and overhang knot in it at the desired length and problem solved. I also like the special, integrated cinching mechanism at the waist. It helps keep the pants up, without gaping at the waist, without having to add a belt. So far my only complaint is that I don't feel like the fabric is very breathable. I wore these climbing the other day on a very humid, but not particular hot day. By the time I got to the base of the climb, I felt really swampy. The material is lightweight though and I find these are great on days 75F
